Join St. Leo’s Athletic Association for Summer Baseball Camp!

Professional Instruction provided by Susquehanna Baseball – Softball Facility


When: July 23, 2012 Monday – Thursday (Friday of that week will serve as the rain date)

Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm

Ages: 8 – 14 years

Cost: $125




What’s Included: 4 days of Professional Instruction provided by Susquehanna Baseball-Softball Facility at the St. Leo’s Athletic Fields, 2427 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. Instruction will be focused by age group in the areas of hitting, pitching, base running, fielding, catching and communication among players. Players will play a game each day.
Primary Instructors:
Aaron Herr, Head Trainer and Co-Owner, was selected by the Atlanta Braves out of Hempfield High School in the 1st Round (No. 40 overall) of the June 2000 First-Year Player Draft and was selected by the Atlanta Braves and signed by the Cincinnati Reds to a Minor League contract. Aaron was named a Double A and Triple A All Star. Aaron played 2009-2011 for the Lancaster Barnstormers and was named the Atlantic League MVP in 2010.
Jeff Ream is the AAU Coach for the TriState Arsenal Team, Assistant Coach for the Hempfield High School team and the Lanco Cobra Nationals Team. Jeff is a Hempfield High School and Stevens College graduate.
Meet Tommy Herr who will join us for 1 day of instruction. Tom Herr played Second Base from 1979 through 1991 in the MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets playing in 3 World Series. Post MLB, Tom coached in the Atlantic Baseball Leagues for the Lancaster Barnstormers and the Single A Hagerstown Suns. Tommy, in addition to instructional advice and coaching, will provide a signed copy of his book “A View from Second Base” for all players. Players will also receive a Camp T-shirt and a coupon to the Susquehanna Baseball-Softball Facility for $10 off a training session at the facility.
What to bring/wear: Dress appropriately for weather, long pants (sweatpants) are encouraged for sliding instruction, gloves, cleats, protective cup, filled water bottle. Bats are optional. Please label all equipment with camper’s last name. Catchers equipment and bats will be available for players use.
A water cooler for refills will be available. Snacks will not be provided due to the number of food allergies, however the St. Leo’s concession stand will be open each day at 12pm if lunch or snack are desired when camp concludes.

I permit my child ____________________ to participate in Susquehanna Baseball-Softball Facility Baseball Camp hosted by St. Leo’s Athletic Association. For accepting my enrollment, the player and we, the parents, collectively and individually, intending to be legally bound for ourselves and our heirs , executors and administrators, release Susquehanna Baseball – Softball Facility and St. Leo’s Athletic Association and their representatives from any and all claims or rights to damages for injury or loss suffered by the player, directly or indirectly, in training for, or travelling to or from, or competing in any in or attending future Association function. I acknowledge the registration fee does not cover primary medical insurance coverage. I consent to emergency medical aid for my child.
We, the parent and the player agree to help create a positive environment for play and competition for the youth of our community. We will treat players, coaches, officials, fans and opposing teams with courtesy and respect. We understand that should a problem arise, such issues are to be addressed directly with the St. Leo’s Athletic Association, rather than the parish, school or league officials (Lancaster County Youth Baseball/YCYBL).
