Neochelynia Schrottky 1920: 187. Type species: Neochelynia paulista Schrottky 1920.

Megachile subgenus Neomegachile Mitchell 1934: 302, 306. Type species: Megachile chichimeca Cresson. Original designation. Michener et al 1994: 149. Synonymy of Michener 2000: 562.

Cressoniella subgenus Neomegachile Mitchell 1980: 63.

The subgenus includes 17 species. They range from southern U.S.A. to Paraguay.

FLOWERS. Cassia emarginata, Ipomaea pescaprae, Portulaca sp., Sesuvium portulacastrum, Croton linearis, Bidens pilosa.

LIFE HISTORY. Adults fly throughout the year.

NESTING. The adults are active for most of the year.
