'Marie Curie' Specific Program Track

  Individual-driven: Individual prepares and submits his/her proposal together with the host institution.  Objective is to provide opportunities for specialization, expertise, and advanced / lifelong training.  Therefore, the general orientation is towards experienced researchers.
  

• 
  Intra-European Fellowship (EIF) - Designed to provide advanced training tailored to the researcher's individual needs.  The fellow stays at the host institution for 1-2 years.

  The award of a Intra-European Fellowship (EIF) is supposed to “make the difference” for the fellow and significantly increase chances of a tenure track position.  Typically a Marie Curie post-doc is a 2nd post-doc especially if the first was completed in the home country of the fellow.  The fellowship can be awarded as a 1st fellowship “but the bar is very high” and the applicant would have to be well above the average.  The same is true of a 3rd or 4th fellowship which would indicate the person is not o tenure track candidate.  The fellowship can also be offered to someone advanced in their career if it would make a significant difference: a biologist who wants to study informatics in order to become a specialist in bio-informatics.

  Intra-European Fellowships (EIF) - can be for a period of 1 - 2 years.  Funding is generous and includes various payments to both the Fellow (monthly living allowance; travel allowance; mobility allowance) -and- to the Host Institution (research costs; management activities; and indirect costs).  Funding generally falls into the range of   € 70,000 -   € 180,000 Euros!!
