Description: Once a year, VroomVroomVroom awards merit-based scholarships for students pursuing higher education in Canada. VroomVroomVroom.ca is Canada's leading car rental comparison engine website and they seek to make educational opportunities available to those committed to studying and school. Any student who is entering university or college as a full-time student is eligible.

Criteria: The Walter and Wayne Gretzky Scholarship Foundation present scholarships each year to eligible blind and visually impaired students planning to study at the post-secondary level.


Wanda Wyatt Scholarships (internal) - Deadline: May 15

Value: Four first year tuition credits to a maximum of $5000


Criteria: P.E.I. students who have demonstrated an aptitude for, or an interest in, the cultural or artistic dimension of life, and who demonstrate potential to contribute to the long-term development of the province. Must be accepted into a program at H.C. Applicants must apply for the award, and must provide in written format a response to the following: List the three activities within either your school or community that have been the most important to you over the last three years, and state why they support or add to the cultural or artistic dimension of life on the Island - include your role and period of involvement. Applicants must provide their most recent academic record. Students must submit 2 reference forms completed by non-relatives. Selection may include a personal interview. Submission must include a completed application form, two reference forms completed by non-relatives, and an autobiographical essay.

Criteria: Awarded to a student accepted in the Carpentry, Wood Manufacturing - Cabinetmaking, Plumbing, or Electrical Technology program who, on admission to the program, demonstrates through previous academic performance and other aspects of the recruitment and selection process outstanding potential for successful participation in their program. Applicants will also be assessed on the basis of financial need. Submission must include a completed application form, a completed financial information section, and an autobiographical essay.

Terry Fox Humanitarian Award- Deadline: February 1st , 2015

  • $7,000 per year, paid directly to the institution in two installments of $3,500 each. If no tuition fees, the award is $3,500 per year, paid directly to the institution in two installments of $1,750 each. (RENEWABLE)

  • Recipients of the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award may not receive more than $15,000 in total scholarships. If a student's awards exceed this amount, any excess will be deducted from the student's Terry Fox Award. If a student's academic expenses are covered by another source, they may choose to decline acceptance of the financial portion of the award. They will still be granted the award and will still be considered Terry Fox Scholars.

Feb. 28th - The deadline for receipt of applications to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program is February 28th.

Sept. 1 - The deadline for applications for all other programs (other than nursing) for September is September 1st.

Important Dates:

March 15Applications due to be considered for scholarships. Some entrance scholarships are based on your application for admissions while others require an application or supplemental forms. Students entering from high school do not require a separate scholarship application form for entrance scholarships, but may want to include a résumé of experience or letter of explanation to further indicate their suitability. If you have a high ranking in your school and an 80%+ average you will be considered for entrance scholarships.

March 15th – Submit all admission application requirements by this date to be considered for entrance scholarships (average of 80%+ = automatically considered for entrance scholarships). There are also scholarships that require an application. You can apply for the Presidential/Santamarian Scholarship or the International Baccalaureate Scholarship. These awards all have different eligibility criteria, such as community involvement, extra curricular activities, academic achievement, or financial need.



St. Francis Xavier:

March 1 – Most scholarship applications are due by this date. For averages 85% and greater there are automatic entrance scholarships. Students must fill in the “Consideration for Major Scholarships” section on the admissions application form if they wish to be considered for more scholarships.
