TIM ZIMMERMAN - Director of The King's Brass, Tim received his graduate degree in Trumpet Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and has assisted with a number of orchestras in the Midwest and East Coast. For thirteen years, Tim served as Chairman of the Music Department at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. He has also taught at Taylor and Indiana Wesleyan Universities in central Indiana. Tim and his wife Beckie, have four grown children and live in the Pennsylvania mountains of Wilkes-Barre / Scranton.
GREGORY ALLEY – Currently, Gregory is the trumpet instructor at Calvin College and Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to teaching, he was a member of the West Point Band in New York for twenty-three years. His music degrees are from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Michigan State University. Gregory plays in the Holland Symphony Orchestra, has been a soloist with the Dallas Symphony, Hudson Valley Bachfest Orchestra, and the Montclair Chamber Ensemble. He, his wife Deb, and their four daughters, live in Hudsonville, Michigan.
SUNGHWAN KIM –Sunghwan holds two Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He also graduated summa cum laude from his undergraduate studies at the Chugye University for the Arts in Korea. Sunghwan studied music composition at the Hanyang University and served as a pianist in the Republic of Korea Air Force Band. Currently living in Cincinnati, he is an active accompanist and chamber musician, as well as pianist at the Power Mission Baptist Church. If Sunghwan was not a pianist, he dreams of being a singer in an acapella ensemble.
CASEY KLINT - Casey received his Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Maryland and his undergraduate performance degree from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. As a result of the high quality performances he heard as a young man in his native Chicago and the encouragement of his Chicago Symphony mentors, he dedicated himself to pursuing a career as a professional trombonist. Casey is currently living in Washington DC, and working as a freelance musician and brass teacher. When not in the practice room, he works diligently at taking strokes off of his golf game.
JOHN LEIBENSPERGER -John recently earned an Artist Diploma in tuba performance from the Yale School of Music and holds additional degrees from Temple and Georgia State Universities. He has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Reading Symphony, Reading POPS, and the South East Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra. John has presented recitals and masterclasses along the East-coast and internationally. In addition to having won various competitions, he founded and directed the CMSP Youth Wind Ensemble in Philadelphia, and was a conducting assistant at Tenth Presbyterian Church. John and his wife, Lola, live in Milford, Connecticut with their eleven-year old beagle, Daisy.
DANIEL LEWIS – An active freelance musician and teacher, Daniel currently holds the third trumpet position with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in Virginia. Daniel received his Master of Music degree in performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and his undergraduate degree from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Daniel lives in Dayton, Ohio where he is an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
DANIEL MORRISON – Daniel has a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. While at Taylor University, he played trombone in the Wind and Jazz Ensembles, as well as singing bass in the Chorale. Daniel developed his acting skills by performing a number of roles in the Taylor University Opera and Musical Theatre productions. He grew up as a missionary kid in Kenya, in Eastern Africa, but now lives in Lititz, Pennsylvania where he enjoys playing basketball, drinking chai tea, and pursuing the art of pun-making.
TIM PERRY - Tim received his Bachelor’s degree in music education from Indiana Wesleyan University and his Master of Music degree in percussion performance from Jacobs School of Music within Indiana University. He was a four-year member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps playing snare drum, and is now a highly active educator within the marching arts. Tim also has a snare drum world champion title earned from the 2010 Percussive Arts Society International Convention marching snare drum competition. Tim is an active freelance musician and currently serves as an adjunct professor of percussion at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.
JIHYE SHIM – Jihye received her Master of Music degree in trombone performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is from South Korea, where she did her undergraduate studies at the Seoul National University. Jihye has been a member of the Gwang-Myeong Symphony Orchestra and Spirit Ensemble Brass Quintet. She is also an educator, having been a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Cincinnati, orchestra director at Baek Hyan & Han Young Middle Schools, and music coach of the Green Pasture Brass Band. Jihye and her husband Wooram, are newly married and living in Cincinnati, Ohio.
