На вниманието на потребителите!!!!!! В Министерство на здравеопазването постъпи уведомителна нотификация № 10-590-add 02 от Националната контактна точка (НКТ) в Министерство на земеделието и храните на Системата за бързо съобщаване за наличие на опасни храни на пазара (RASFF) на Европейския съюз. В нотификацията се съобщава за разпространение по интернет на 65 вида хранителни добавки от Съединените американски щати, съдържащи неразрешени стероиди или стероидоподобни вещества. Нотификацията предоставя информация за физически лица от Европа и САЩ, които са закупили продукта по интернет от компанията Bodybuilding.com, LLC. Продуктът е бил доставен директно на потребителите. Липсва информация за официални вносители от САЩ за Европа. Американската администрация по храни и лекарства е провела разследване чрез отдел ”Криминални разследвания”. Според разследването продуктите разпространявани чрез уеб-сайта на Bodybuilding.com (www.bodybuilding.com) са определени като опасни за здравето и могат да причинят сериозни здравословни проблеми или смърт. Съгласно извършената оценка за опасността за здравето на потребителите тези продукти може да доведат до увреждане на черния дроб. Също така стероидите могат да причинят смаляване на тестисите и стерилитет при мъжете, получаване на мъжки полови белези при жените, уголемяване на гърдите при мъжете и нисък ръст при децата, сърдечен удар (инфаркт), различен от лекарствен или алкохолен, неблагоприятни ефекти за кръвните мастни нива и предизвикват риск от сърдечен пристъп, удар (инсулт) и смърт. На 29 юни 2010 г. Американската администрация по храни и лекарства е разпоредила фирмата да изтегли продуктите от потребителите.
