VoIP is an abbreviation for Voice over Internet Protocol; which in public term means phone services through the internet. The telephone was invented in the late 1800s. The telephone basic mechanism of communication did not change significantly. However, incorporating its basic mechanism with other new technologies has improved on various levels since then. Over the years, telephone service providers have been making changes to improve on the quality and variety of services offered to subscribers. In the 1990s, a number of individual researchers took on a serious attention in moving voice and video over Internet Protocols (IP) Networks, especially in intranets and the Internet. This technology is referred to today as VoIP.

VoIP simply works by breaking up the audio or video to small chunks, those chunks will transfer it throughout IP network and reassembling. The chunks will allow two users communicate each other by using audio and video. VoIP is another way of making phone calls, with the advantage of making the calls cheaper free. The phone device set is not necessary to be always present anymore for communication. VoIP services convert the voice to digital signal that go over the Internet. VoIP can allow a directly call from a computer to an adapter by using a special VoIP phone, or a traditional phone device that is connected.

The VoIP idea was under the light and caught significant when the internet concept that was popularized by Al Gore who was the former Vice President of the United States (1993–2001). He publicized the idea of the possibility that the Internet could be used as well to interconnect every home and every business with a packet-switched data network, as oppose to its current limitation in use in the academic and military areas only at that time. His efforts in publishing and suggesting this step have generated huge interests in the VoIP research projects.

Despite VoIP being a relatively new technology and it has already achieved a wide range of advertisement, acceptance and usage by individuals, institutions and companies; there is still a lot to improve upon especially in the quality area. The public is getting more and more conscious of the advantages of using VoIP especially in the financial aspect. VoIP projects have promising outcomes and improvements not only in at the technological level but also at an economical one as well.

The purpose of this project is to explore one of the computer/internet’s fastest growing technology of the Voice over IP or the (VoIP) which  refers to the communication and multimedia protocol sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The VoIP has no become the most interactive use multimedia functions that include audio-visual messaging, fax, and SMS texting, applications. This report will investigate the mechanism, configuration and highlighting how the Voice over IP differs from the IP Telephony packaging.

In this research will be explained technology VoIP Charter network defined and how they work, types and what are the necessary equipment to work technical with an explanation of the benefits of technical and disadvantages and challenges faced by the technical taking some of the practical applications to see how contributed technical sophistication and development in plant .Then, discuss on differences between reliance on traditional communications and technology. In addition, we will survey the number of people who use this technique and which kind of age categories. Finally, we will interview with person work in Meteorological and his major is engineering electronic, that is help to get more information about VoIP.
