Creates and manages the cleaning schedule for all PetSmart stores to ensure each kennel within each store is cleaned once each morning and deep cleaned at least once each week.
Coordinates, trains, and assigns volunteers to assist at PetSmart stores and reports all volunteer hours to Volunteer Coordinator.
Transport animals to and from PetSmart stores daily to ensure all kennels remain full and sick cats are returned to the shelter within the same day symptoms are reported.
Monitors the health and behavior of all PetSmart Seven Day Cat Program animals and submits Veterinary Exam Requests to Shelter Veterinarian as needed. Ensures that any sick PetSmart cats are taken directly to Rehab and transported back to PetSmart when released from Rehab.
Acts as the liaison between PetSmart staff and HSNT staff and volunteers
Trains PetSmart staff on proper HSNT adoption procedure and animal care procedures. Ensures that PetSmart store has appropriate HSNT materials.
Tracks PetSmart adoptions and submits appropriate paperwork to PetSmart Charities within allotted time period to ensure HSNT receives adoption rebates.
Photographs and writes biographies for all PetSmart animals for use on PetSmart kennel cards and HSNT website.
Reports any observed animal behavior issues to the manager on duty.
Helps potential adopters locate their match and processes adoptions.
Conducts offsite cat adoption events at PetSmart stores and ensures HSNT has an adoption presence at each PetSmart partner store on PetSmart National Adoption Days.
Ensures there is a queue of PetSmart eligible cats prepped for transfer at all times with prepared folders. Manage PetSmart animals’ records in Petpoint.
Ensures all PetSmart adoptions are processed by the following day.
Creates efficient Standard Operating Procedures for all processes related to PetSmart Seven Day Cat Program.
Maintains assigned equipment, vehicles, and supplies in safe condition and reports any problems or needed repairs to Director of Development and Communications.
Must be eligible to be a “driver” for the Humane Society of North Texas and must perform “driver” duties as directed by immediate supervisor. Such “driver” duties may include, but are not limited to, driving a HSNT van, box truck, transit, or trailer.
Check and clear voice messages, promptly answering, returning phone calls and documenting calls on phone log when applicable.
Work to expand HSNT’s Seven Day Cat Program into additional PetSmart stores in North Texas.
Represent the Humane Society of North Texas by providing excellent customer service and focus.
Protect the confidential information on customers and donors.
Report to work at assigned start time; go to/return from breaks and lunch at assigned times; leave work at assigned quitting time.
Additional operations and development duties related to PetSmart cats as assigned by the Director of Development and Communications.
Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships within the Humane Society of North Texas, with volunteers, the public, and be a team player.
Must be patient, courteous and work well under stressful conditions.
Knowledge and ability to accurately work with detailed information in paper and computerized format.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
Ability to learn and quickly adapt to changes in programs and procedures.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
A solid understanding of animal behavior, body language, and proper animal care within one month of hire.
Ability to work and solve problems independently and accurately with little oversight.
Must be able to work efficiently and accurately under stress and pressure, while still maintaining a positive, professional manner towards customers and staff.
Detail oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must have strong time management skills.
Must be 23 years old to meet insurance requirements and must be qualified and licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
