Letter
A Letter is a kind of the postal item, which contains a private message. A letter can be within an envelope, sealed or unsealed, or without any envelope.
All the document and parcel posting, which is not classified in any other type of the letter-post service and is charged at a lower rate than that of the letter service, or any item which is indicated by the customer to be sent by the letter service, is also considered as letter.
Private message is the message, which is intended to be specifically exchanged between two persons, between a person and a group or between a group and a group.
Dimensions :
Maximum : Its width, length and height combined must not exceed 900 mm., but its greatest dimension must not exceed 600 mm.
In roll form, its length plus twice the diameter combined must not exceed 1,040 mm., but its greatest dimension must not exceed 900 mm. (+/- 2 mm.).
Minimum : 90 x 140 mm. (+/- 2 mm.)
In roll form, its length plus twice the diameter combined must not less than 170 mm., but its greatest dimension must not be less than 100 mm. (+/- 2 mm.)
Weight Limits :
The maximum weight of the letter is 2,000 g.
The document exceeding 2,000 g. is not considered as a letter, except that the overload is attributable to the weight of postage stamps or the advice of delivery or extra document allowed.
Postcard
Postcard is a card carrying a message sent by post. It can be produced by the CAT or by a customer.
At least the right-hand half of space on the front must be spared for writing the recipient's address, affixing a postage stamp, imprinting the date stamp and any postal service instructions and labels.
Thus the message can be written in all space on the left of the address side and on the back of the card.
The word "Postcard" both in Thai and English, printed in the upper middle part of the front of postcard.
Characteristics :
A white-rectangle cardboard or stiff paper.
A minimum weight of 180 g. per sq. m.
Dimensions :
Maximum : 105 x 148 mm. (+/- 2 mm.)
Minimum : 90 x 140 mm. (+/- 2 mm.)
Its length must be at least 1.4 times of its width.
Printed Matter
Printed matter is a kind of the letter-post items covering any type of reproduction, which is wholly printed upon paper, cardboard or other materials commonly used in printing.
It is produced in multiple, identical copies by means of printing, any other recognized printing processes.
The consideration as to whether the items are printed matter or not is at the discretion of the CAT.
