RMA Worldwide CEO Wins Entrepreneur of the Year
Washington, DC-area Transportation Executive
Lauded for Investment in Technology
ROCKVILLE, MD—The founder and CEO of RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation has been named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the transportation industry.
Robert Alexander, who grew his operation from a single car twenty-six years ago to one of the largest limousine operations in the United States, won the 2014 People’s Choice Award for entrepreneurship at the LCT National Limousine Association Show in Atlantic City last week.
One of the reasons for winning the award was Alexander’s investment of over $100,000 in developing an app and online software to run his company. His company’s app, called RMA Limo, may be downloaded free for both Apple and Android devices.
“It is a great honor to receive such recognition by my peers,” Alexander said. “I am lucky to be surrounded a great team of people at RMA, all of whom embrace the entrepreneurial spirit that keeps our industry as innovative as ever.”
Alexander’s company, which this year moved and is renovating a new state-of-the-art facility in Rockville, Maryland, arranges luxury vehicles, vans and buses through its proprietary and affiliated fleets on six continents.
The company had previously been awarded “International Operator of the Year” by LCT Magazine (2011); “National Operator of the Year” by Limousine Digest Magazine (2010/2011); and “Limousine Operator of the Year” by the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association (2011). It has been ranked “No. 1 Executive Transportation Service” by the Washington Business Journal and voted “Best of Bethesda” by readers of Bethesda Magazine.
