ESSAY STATEMENTS
A critical component of the application process is the creation of an essay describing your interests and career goals. Additionally, you will choose one of three JCC related case studies and submit your take on the situation presented.
The three case studies and directions for completion can be found on the website: http://www.jccworks.com/?PageID=gM28CBC3
Your essay and case study provide the selection committee with samples of your writing skills. The reader gains insight to your interest in JCC work and your understanding of the JCC Movement.
Essay
There are four areas that your essay must cover:

  1. The specific source of your interest in becoming a JCC professional

  2. What contribution you hope to make as a professional staff person in a JCC

  3. The area of graduate work you are or will be pursuing and why this area of study will help you become an effective JCC Professional

  4. Any other factor(s) you believe the committee should know about you when considering your application

Please title it “Essay – Your Name”. Be sure that it does not exceed two pages. It must be paper-clipped to your application.
