Career Clusters
The District of Columbia has adopted the National 16 Career Clusters®Framework. Nine applications for recognition from the National Academy Foundation were recently approved for District programs, all adapted from the Career Cluster taxonomy. Career Clusters are being used to support effective and accelerated transitions into postsecondary education, and local Perkins plans and proposals are required to incorporate the Career Clusters framework. The District's proposed career academies represent three recognized Career Clusters Hospitality & Tourism Information Technology Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics.
