Introduction
As the business environment continues to experience rapid technological change, the use of economic analysis has become increasingly important for managers in the areas of production, pricing, management, financing and strategy. Given this changing business environment, firms are increasingly looking for individuals who can think analytically and use economic analysis to make well-informed decisions. In addition to analytical skills, firms also value employees with interpersonal skills. This often includes being a team player and having the ability to interact with, motivate and provide support for their colleagues. Firms are also looking for employees who have developed leadership skills either in their communities or through their participation in team projects or student organizations. Finally, firms seek employees who have good communication skills, entrepreneurial and marketing skills, the ability to relate their area of expertise to other associated fields, and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
