5/6/13: The Elephant Keeper’s Children - Peter Hoeg
This is the second book I have read by this Danish author, the first was a murder mystery, this is sort of fantastical social commentary mystery. The story follows the lives of three kids, although the focus is on the two youngest. Their parents are up to some scheme. The construct of the book is the two kids outwitting the bumbling bureaucrats sent in to deal with them. It was hard to get into, but once I did it was fun, although it did remind me of that Latin American ‘magical realism’ and I find that stuff hard to get through.
