Description of Workcamp:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- It will consist of dynamizing the social

and cultural environment of Valdeolea, offering the inhabitants

different leisure time activities and collaborating with the

cultural activities which will be developed in the town.


COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES.- Trip to Santander, Santillana del Mar,

go hiking, guided tour to the Valley, sport activities, rafting

in Ebro river.

SPECIFIC GOALS.- Dynamizing the different villages in the

district, by carrying out several recreational and cultural

activities.
COMMITMENT OF PARTICIPANTS.- The participants commit themselves

to:


Work selflessly during the hours stipulated in the project.

Collaborate in the general organization of the workcamp by doing

activities such as cleaning, cooking, carrying out administration

tasks, etc.

Respect the beliefs, ideologies and personal or cultural

differences of the rest of the participants in the workcamp.

Stay in the workcamp during the scheduled time.

Respect the different internal rules of the camp to favour a good

coexistence among the participants, such as: accepting the

instructions given by the people in charge; observing the

timetables and not using personal means of transport (such as

cars, motorbikes, etc), during the whole workcamp.

ACCOMMODATION/FOOD.- In the Public School ´Valdeolea´ -

will take place in the dining room of the School, made by an

expert cooker and some days pic-nic.
LOCATION.- Mataporquera is a small village in the south of

Cantabria Region (North of Spain). There is a supermarket, a

couple of bars, a drugstore.

REGION.- Region of Castilla y León. Province of Salamanca.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK.-

Main Activity:

Design and construction of a straw bale cabin at the ‘Territorio

del juego’: The idea is to construct the first straw bale cabin

of a future group of cabins which will become the ‘Territorio del

Juego’. It is a city hall project that has been started a couple

years ago. The cabin pretends to be a model of those traditional

ecological and bioclimatic houses built in the past with mud,

straw and white lime. The green roof will be the final task.

The ‘Territorio del Juego’ is also a space for play in a natural

setting with an innovative design to promote traditional games as

an educational resource and as a stimulus for intergenerational

activities. In past years seven playgrounds have been designed.

The goal for this year’s camp is to start the design and

construction of a straw bale cabin village.

COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES.- On the other

hand, but simultaneously, the volunteers will participate in

diverse activities of social and cultural animation and rural

revival, collaborating with distinct municipal associations,

taking off from the possibilities offered by popular games and

cultural tradition. Among others the following activities are

proposed:

Festival of intergenerational games

Trade Fair

Rural life and culture shop

Environmental shop

Experience a day with a family

Participation in the Cultural Evenings at the Amphitheatre.

Also, to fill in free time, there will be other activities and

shops of cultural, recreational, sports directed to the group of

young participants, such as:

Day trips to Salamanca and ´Las Arribes del Duero´ (portuguese

border)

Dramatization and body expression



Sport activities

Nightly entertainment activities

capabilities.


INTERNAL RULES.- The participants must respect minimal rules

during their stay at the work camp, as far the schedules for

work, meals and rest periods are concerned and participation in

group activities as well as cooperation in group tasks and social

interaction.

REGION: Region of Canarias. Tenerife island.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Knowledge ´in situ´ of Candelaria´s Old Way (formation and

route).

General cleaning of garbage, rubble and discordant elements. If



necessary, clearing of invasive vegetation on the way.

Diagnosis of the road with the collection of information,

completion of a card and further information processing. Taking

photographs, geographic data collection, drawing up of sketches.

Development of an inventory of heritage items and most

significant conditions to be located in the working section.

Development of a blog, in different languages, on the road and

appreciation, putting the bases for future development of a road

topoguide.
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES:

Visit the Aquatic Park ´SIAM PARK´

Full day excursion to the Anaga´s Rural Park.

Hiking peregrination to Candelaria

Eight seater cabins with two bedrooms with four beds, living

LOCATION:

We are going to intervene in a section of Candelaria´s Old Road,

located in the municipality of El Rosario (15 minutes by bus from

the camp, the place of accommodation for the group), the section

which seeks to recover, since it possesses wealth assets of

interest as well as a good conservation of the original stone

pavement of the way, corresponds with the stretch running between

the Church of El Rosario up to the Way of the Birds in ´Barranco

Hondo´. (Municipality of El Rosario).
TRAVELLING INSTRUCTIONS:

By plane or boat to the island of Tenerife.

Pick up at the airport by staff of the organization and transfer

to Camp ´La Esperanza´.

PROFILE - COMMITMENT OF PARTICIPANTS:

Young people from 18 to 25 years.


The volunteer agrees to:

Work, selflessly, stipulated hours in the camp working project,

five days a week.

Collaborate on the development of the scheduling of animation

activities and participate on them.

Contribute to the work camp overall organization in the suitable

tasks: cleaning, cooking, administration, etc...

Respect different beliefs, ideologies and personal differences of

the participants.

Stay in the field during the scheduled period.


INTERNAL RULES:

Respect both the working team and the participants in the

activity.

Compliance with all security measures during the follow-up and

health and safety at work during the recovery efforts of the

road.


Prohibits the use of drugs during the activity (including

alcohol).

In the case of smokers, a place will be set outside the camp

area, surrounding the facility.

Personnel assigned to the participating group will remain

together for everyday tasks and activities. Except in accordance

with the authorization of the director, staff may not leave the

premises except in the schedules as free time.

In general, the monitoring team should ensure the proper care of

equipment, facilities as well as the housekeeping during the

activity.

cultural landscape where just walking becomes an interesting

COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES: The activity team

will prepare a series of activities to get a knowledge about the

culture and the habits of the Basque Country (sports activities,

cultural visits, excursions, games..


ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: The accommodation of participants in the

workcamp will be held at the Hotel-Restaurant Palace of Ozpinas.

This hotel is within walking distance from Salt Valley.
LOCATION: It’s located on Alava’s plain, in the municipality of

Valdegobía, province of Alava in the Basque Country. Añana is

located 30 Km west of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque

area, where you can access through Nanclares de la Oca, for the

L-622 that passes through the town of Pobes. From Salt Añana, the

L-622 continues to Espejo, where it joins the road N-625,

Burgos-Bilbao
TRAVELLING INSTRUCTIONS: The nearest international airport is in

Bilbao, which is 88 km far from us.

Other important city is Donostia-San Sebastian (close to the

French border)

Later, you must take the bus from Vitoria to Salinas.
MEETING POINT: The meeting point and time will be arranged in the

future.
