the surrounding of the island, to help in prevention of forest fires and to help to clean gulfweed wearing neoprene clothes in the South Island. Participate to information activities to visitors and to help physical disabled (wheelchair or old people) visitors and to collaborate with the Environment Service of the National Park.
Leisure activities and sport activities (snorkel). Two possibilities: Visit by fishing boat around the islands or diving baptism. Note: These activities are for your guidance and may be changed in the development of work camp ACCOMMODATION/FOOD.- Participants will be accommodated in tents in the work camp of Cies Islands (Vigo-Pontevedra). The site has buildings as dinning room and bath-room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by specialized staff.
Monte Agudo Island (on the north) to be precise, on the Ría de Vigo, in Vigo Municipality. The Cies Islands and archipelagos of Cortegada, Sálvora and Ons, belong to the National Park of Atlantic Islands of Galicia. The ecologic value of its marine habitat is incalculable because here there are some of the most representative examples of Atlantic marine eco-systems. Marine habitat of the National Park is a big mosaic of different habitats that support an extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna. We can find habitats defined by the European Community like ´community priority´: reefs, lagoons or sandbanks covered all the time by no deep marine waters. On land we can find ´community priority´ habitats too, likes the grey dunes or the ´aerohalins´ littoral bushes or the southerner atlantic humid ´brezo´ bushes. The most important problem in the National Park conservation is the human pressure. In Cies Islands the eucalyptus plantations, pines and acacias have occupied the place of native plants. The eradication of these plantations is a very long place process and the National Park is working in and the results will be seen gradually. Actually, it is being done actuations to develop a correct management of the public use, the islands residues, the navigation, the sail, etc.

This work camp tries to revitalize the cultural life in Palas de Rei through a play based in the Galician music from 70´s. The volunteers will be the actors and the dancers, and will help in works such a production, lighting, theatre set, effects... Pilgrims, people of Palas de Rei and from others towns (where the musical will be played) will be the audience. The Volunteers will help and will cooperate to create a programme in order to revitalize the leisure activities for the elder people and the young people of Palas de Rei. In the Way of Saint James, the volunteers can help to signal it and to clean it. COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES.- Leisure activities and sport activities like trekking, BTT, geo-catching, kayak, swimming, paint-ball. A trip to Santiago de Compostela, (the end of The Way of Saint James) or to Galician Coast or to others important places of the Way (Lugo, Finisterre ...). The Primitive Way and The French Way meet in this village to go to Santiago de Compostela. Palas de Rei is 70 km from Santiago de Compostela, 87 km from A Coruña, 155 km from Vigo and 72 km from Ourense (the biggest cities in Galicia). COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES.- Workshops: basketwork with the craftsmen of the region, traditional earthenware/leather goods A walk around the heritage places of Rois. Traditional parties with people of Rois. Visit to Padron and Santiago de Compostela. A trip to Barbanza (visiting others archaeological sites) and a trip to Muros, Noia and Carnota (the coast and the beaches). Note: These activities are for your guidance and may be changed in the development of work camp ACCOMMODATION/FOOD.- Participants will be accommodated in the sports hall in Os Dices-Rois, very near of the town hall. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by specialized staff.
Volunteers will be picked up by bus or by car everyday from the youth camp to the place of work. LOCATION.- Rois belongs to Sar region, just besides the municipalities of Padron and Dodro on the south of A Coruña Province on Galicia Region, on the northwest of Spain. Its heritage (the religious and civil architecture) is under the influence of the proximity to the city of Santiago de Compostela (pilgrim´s town) The denominated Castro (Fort) of Socastro is in the parish of S. Pedro of Herbogo in Rois and it is visible from the mountains surround the Valeiron River. To arrive at Rois by car, you must leave the road (N550) or the AP-9 motorway from Santiago de Compostela to Pontevedra, just in Padron town and then you must go by LC-301 road (Padron-Rois). The capital (Os Dices) is only 4 Km from Padron. Rois municipality belongs to A Coruña province and it is 26 Km away from Santiago de Compostela city, 87 Km away from A Coruña city, 133 Km away from Lugo and 75 Km away from Vigo (Pontevedra).
