Swinburne University of Technology


Various scholarships are on offer ranging in value from $500 to several thousand dollars. Merit scholarships on the list include:


  • High Achievers Program

Swinburne University recognises that high-performing students need the opportunity to develop, extend and be challenged to excel in their field of interest. Swinburne offers this opportunity through its programs in science, technology and design.

The High Achievers Program recognises students who demonstrate exceptional potential to benefit from access to research and industry projects. Students selected into this program have access to –




  • Research project or industry program

  • Mentoring from senior research students

  • Networking opportunities with like-minded peers

  • A $5,000 per annum cash scholarship for the duration of their program

The High Achievers Program is open to both Australian and international students and entry is based on the following criteria:





  • minimum ATAR of 95.00 or equivalent

  • students must have completed Year 12 in the year prior to commencement

  • students must meet all course prerequisites

The High Achievers Program is offered in the following degrees –




  • Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) (Honours)

  • Bachelor of Information Technology

  • Bachelor of Science (Physics)

CSP students receive $5,000 per annum for the normal duration of their chosen course, plus they may receive a one-off payment of $2,000 towards an international study experience. These scholarships are offered in

  • Information Technology

  • Laws

  • Science





To be eligible students must lodge a VTAC application and should anticipate attaining an ATAR of at least 95.00.

  • Dean’s Outstanding Achievement Scholarships


CSP students receive $2,500 per annum for the normal duration of their chosen course, plus they may receive a one-off payment of $2,000 towards an international study experience. Students must be applying for a CSP place in -



  • Arts & Social Sciences

  • Business

  • Design

  • Education

  • Engineering

  • Health Sciences

  • Information Technology

  • Laws

  • Science





To be eligible students must lodge a VTAC application and should anticipate attaining an ATAR of at least 90.00.


  • George Swinburne Merit Scholarship

CSP students receive $1,000 per annum for the normal duration of their chosen course, plus they may receive a one-off payment of $2,000 towards an international study experience. These scholarships are offered in any on-campus bachelor degree except Bachelor of Information Technology. To be eligible students must lodge a VTAC application and should anticipate attaining an ATAR of at least 85.00.



  • Bachelor of Information Technology Industry Scholarship Program

The scholarship is on offer to CSP applicants applying for the Bachelor of Information Technology. Successful students will receive an industry-funded tax-free scholarship of approximately $40,000 over three years, and 40 weeks work experience in the ICT industry. Students need to apply both to VTAC and submit a supplementary application form at http://www.future.swinburne.edu.au/vtac/extra-requirements/information-technology/


High-achieving international students who plan to study a bachelor program at Swinburne may be eligible for this scholarship.  Valued at 25% of the total tuition fees, these scholarships are awarded on academic merit. Students will automatically be assessed for a scholarship when applying for an eligible program at Swinburne. There is no need for a separate application. Note that the number of scholarships is limited.

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship


CSP Students who study in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline are eligible to apply for this scholarship which will provide students with a number of benefits designed to increase their employability and reward their scholarly pursuit. Valued at $2000 per year for the course duration, plus a one-off $2000 subsidy for an international study experience or $3000 towards a study exchange at Swinburne Sarawak. Students who go on to a Masters or Honours level qualification will also receive the STEM Scholarship for each year of this course. Think Education Scholarships

A number of colleges belong to THINK Education and these THINK colleges have a range of scholarships available to students who are motivated, creative and talented in the area they want to study that covers all or part of their course fees. These scholarships are not based on academic merit but on a student’s drive, passion and determination to succeed.  Some of the scholarship deadlines are approaching in August, so students should browse the link below soon. University of Adelaide

A comprehensive range of scholarships are available, ranging in value up to $10,000 per year. The University of Adelaide offers a range of scholarships, funded by the University and by external organisations, for both commencing and continuing undergraduate students from wide-ranging backgrounds. Examples of some of the merit scholarships are:



  • Andy Thomas Scholarship

For a student with an outstanding ATAR and applying for a CSP place in a Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering; covers the full cost of tuition fees plus $6,000 per year allowance over four years. Scholarship selection will also have regard to the student’s contribution to their school and to the wider community. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through SATAC to the University of Adelaide will be automatically considered. The university will contact the eligible students and invite them to apply.


  • John Cresswell Scholarship for the Bachelor of Economics

A once-off payment of $3,000 will be awarded to a CSP student commencing a Bachelor of Economics program. Selection for this scholarship will be made according to academic merit which will be determined according to ATAR scores.


  • Marta Sved Scholarship in Mathematics

A once-off payment of $2,000 will be awarded to a female CSP student who commences a Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences (Advanced), Mathematical & Computer Sciences or Engineering (Computational). The recipient will also receive a laptop computer and a personal mathematics mentor for the duration of their study program. Selection will be made according to academic merit in mathematics with consideration given to a recommendation made by the applicant's mathematics teacher and the applicants' statement regarding why they wish to study their chosen degree. The ATAR will also be considered.


  • The Agribusiness Leaders Scholarship for Excellence

One scholarship valued at $10,000 for one year will be available to a commencing CSP student. Applicants must be undertaking their first year of study in the Bachelor of Agricultural Science program at the University of Adelaide. Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to academic merit and applicants' demonstrated leadership experience. Academic merit will be determined by the ATAR.


  • SANTOS Petroleum Engineering

Scholarships awarded to CSP students enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering); valued up to $10,000 per year. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through SATAC to the University of Adelaide and listed the Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering) program as their first preference will be sent a scholarship application form. Selection will be based on both academic merit and an interview. Call the Australian School of Petroleum on (08) 8303 8000 and request further information.
