Badagry and Ikeja were systematically picked for the Lagos West; Surulere was picked for Lagos Central; and Kosofe was picked for Lagos East. However to reflect the social strata in the state, this research deemed it necessary to further stratify the schools and children to both public and private junior schools between JSS 1 to JSS 3.
Since the research was with a 300 sample size, this must be spread equally through the four selected local government areas. Therefore, 100 children in Public and Private school was selected in each local government, however, because two local governments were selected from the Lagos West senatorial districts, 50 each was selected.
