3.5 DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT
For this research, questionnaires were administered to gather data from the respondents. The content of the 15-question closed-ended questionnaires were guided and influenced by the research questions as identified in Chapter One.
Few media savvy parents and media practitioners were interviewed (sometimes impromptu) to help in the in-depth probing of their perception as regards the concepts in the research study. Their opinion however only served as guide in the reporting of events in the research process, but did not influence the findings from the target subjects (the children).
