4311 JAPAN 1886 PATTERN WW2 ARMY COMPANY OFFICERS DRESS SABRE. Brass hilt fittings with pierced handguard. Brown wooden grip with brass wire binding which is loose in places. Blade with minor edge knks, plating on blade lifting in places. Twin hanger scabbard with 20% of original chromium finish remains. 3 x dents to lower section of scabbard. Blade length 77.7cm. O/a length 90.6cm. Grade II- $450

4312 JAPAN 1886 PATTERN WW2 ARMY COMPANY OFFICERS PARADE SABRE. Brass knucklebow & pierced handguard with silver mon present on underside of handguard. Re-lacquered brown wooden grip with brass wire binding. Double fullered blade with Hamon present. Re-chromed single hanger scabbard with broken 6.5cm tip professionally repaired. Handguard and leather blade washer do not fit snuggly against scabbard throat (6mm space), possibly due to scabbard repair. Still an attractive looking Parade sabre. Grade II. $550*

4313 JAPAN SCARCE 1895 PATTERN NAVAL PRISON & SHORE PATROL SWORD. Black leather Covergo grip with intermittent brass wire binding. Brass hilt fittings with engraved foul anchor design to backstrap. Clean, machine made blade of Shinogi-Zukuri form, but with flattened back edge. Minor pitting towards tip, brown leather blade washer present. Wood lined, all steel nickel plated scabbard with minor dent near drag. Dark age patina to scabbard finish. Foul anchor design engraved to obverse of scabbard near drag. Blade length including Habaki 65.5cm. O/a length of sword 83.5cm. A lovely example of a rare and desirable sword. Grade II. $1500

4314 JAPAN WW2 1935 Pattern Army NCO's aluminium Hilted Shin- Gunto. Tsuka retains approx 80% of it's brown painted finish. Has the scarce side-mounted spring clip retention system, steel fuchi and plain blackened steel blade with matching accountability numbers to blade and scabbared throat. Blade has a few spots of light pitting and three small nicks to the blades edge. Dent free scabbard with O/A light rust, but still retains approx 60% of it's original olive green painted finish. An original, unrestored example. Grade II $850

4315 JAPAN WW2 BROWN LEATHER SWORD BELT with an external leather tongue which covers the buckle and tucks into the belt loop Reputed to be used by Cavalry Officers, but may have also been used by Infantry Warrant Officers. Has the owner's name marked to the inside in ink appears to read "KIYOMOTO" This is the actual belt photographed in the book 'Japanese Military and Civil Swords and Dirks' by Richard Fuller and Ron Gregory. Page 236, Plate 288. Grade II $825

4316 JAPAN WW2 NICKEL PLATED BRASS CHAIN SWORD HANGER. Heavy two strand interwoven chain 47cm long. Nickel plating has toned and worn through to brass in places giving it a nice aged appearance. A very desirable set of hangers. Grade II- $475

4317 JAPAN WW2 ISLAND MADE SWORD, overall length 25.5", the blade is 17", curved flat sided blade tapering to a small tip has staining and some light pitting, no habaki, brass end fitting with tassel loop. Wood scabbard with leather combat cover and copper single hanger. Most of the fittings have remains of gold gilt finish and the copper hanger and tassel holder have age patina. Possibly an island made sword during or just after WW2. Grade III+. $200

4318 MEXICO. C/1880 ARTILLERY SIDEARM. SHORT SWORD. O/A length 84cm. Plain straight blade by: "Collins & Co. Hartford". Light pitting and age stain. Brass Crossguard and Horn Grips of Moroccan style. C/W customised brown leather scabbard with raised Serpent Design and matching leather German Style Bayonet Frog. Unusual Weapon. Grade II-. $650

4319 SWEDISH 1854 PATTERN CAVALRY TROOPERS SWORD, brass guard, steel blade by 'JP TN', leather bound grip (missing wire and thumb leather loop). Double ring steel scabbard stamped '3R 2SN 43' and on the guard '3/32'. O/a a nice sword. Grade II- $650

4321 GERM WW1 Patriotic Pocket Knife. Black anodised steel body with small painted 1914 Iron Cross underneath the royal cypher and town name in gilt. "Wiesbaden". Wear to detail on cypher and Iron Cross. Has two blades and cork screw. Grade II $95

4322 GERM WW2 KRIEGSMARINE OFFICER'S DRESS DAGGER. White celluloid grip with brass double twisted wire to grooves. Celluloid with O/A cracking, small piece missing from rev. side of handle. Has been lacquered to help stabilize cracking. Brass Eagle/Swastika Pommel & matching Crossguard Working Scabbard locking stud, circular brass stud cap missing. Double fullered etched blade By. "Paul Weyersberg" fouled anchor design. Blade has O/A pitting. Dent free Scabbard with lightening bolt design. Dagger, Grade III+. Scabbard, Grade II. LICENCE REQUIRED IN VICTORIA. $650

4323 GERM WW2 LUFTWAFFE 1st PATTERN FLYER'S DAGGER. Nickel-silver pommel & crossguard. Inlaid Brass sunwheel Swastika to obv. side of pommel. Swastika on rev. side has been profession- ally replaced with the centre section of a Bomber's clasp. (Nickel-silver winged bomb). Inlaid brass Sunwheel Swastika to the centre of the crossguard on obv. & rev. Moroccan blue leather wire bound grip. "Helbig" maker & Luftwaffe acceptance stamp to blade. Clean, bright blade, 4 cm section to the tip of the blade has been broken off, but professionally brazed back on. Blue moroccan leather covered scabbard with nickel-silver plated fittings. Missing chain hanger. Interesting variant which probably belonged to a Bomber Pilot. Lic. Req. Vic. Grade II- $1150

4324 GERM WW2 RAD EM's Hewer. Staghorn grips with nickel silver plated fittings. Clean, bright blade with maker "Gottlieb Hammesfahr, Solingen Foche" and "RAJD" in triangle with "Ges. Gesch" below. Obv. of blade with etched motto "Arbeit Adelt" (Work Enables). Blade edge has been sharpened. Scabbard has original black painted finish but with overall wear. Nickel silver plated scabbard fittings with a few small dents to bottom fitting. Plating still in good condition. Original example. Grade II-. $1500*

4325 GERM WW2 DRK Subordinate's Hewer. War time manufactured example with nickel plated pot metal hilt and crossguard. Majority of plating worn off hilt, crossguard with red cross insignia of an eagle with a swastika on its breast clutching the red cross symbol still retains its bright nickel plating. Correct black blastic grips, chequered on obv. near bottom screw, not very noticeable. Clean blade with sawtooth to one edge. Scabbard with original black enamel painted finish and nickel fittings. Screws to bottom fitting have been replaced sometime in the past. C/W correct black leather frog with minor wear only. Grade II-. $1450*

4326 GERM WW2 Officer's dagger portapee. Aluminium woven thread to cords with a black fleck. Worn through in places to the central string core. Alum. acorn. Grade III- $50

4327 GERM WW2 Army Officer's dagger hangers. Show o/a wear to the aluminium facings and to the velvet backing material. Some soiling. both suspension ring attachment clips intact and working. Grade III+ $150

4328 GERM WW2 Army officer's dress dagger. Orange celluliod grip with a small chip to top of the grip on obv, and another chip with a short hairline crack to top of the rev. Bright nickel silver plating to pommel, ferrule, crossguard and scabbard. Shows wear to the finish on the scabbard and mainly to the rev of the crossguard. Clean bright blade with maker "E & F Horster, Solingen". Grade II- Lic req Vic $1000*

4329 GERM WW2 ARMY OFFICER'S DRESS DAGGER By F.W. Holler. White celluloid grip. Nickel plated crossguard and pommel. Blade with areas of light age staining. Top of grip under pommel and bottom of grip under ferrule have been repaired. Does not show when dagger has been assembled. Missing scabbard. Still a very attractive example of a standard army officers dagger. Grade II- $450

4330 ITALY WW2 FASCIST MVSN DAGGER/FIGHTING KNIFE. Black metal Scabbard with "M.V.S.N." stamped motif and belt hanger to rear. Knife has single edge blade with straight crossguard and straight wooden handle with 3 small metal studs each side. Grade II- $725

Solingen matching number scabbard & weapon. No slot for attaching to rifle. Usually issued to engineers/artillery. Grade II $265

4334 AUST A small cerimonial gurka kukri fixed to a wall mount backing board. Red felt inlaid scabbard. Some reasonably heavy corrosion to blade. Reputed to have come from the collection of former RSL presidnet Bruce Ruxton. Grade II- $75

4343 INDIA WW1 LARGE MILITARY ISSUE KUKRI KNIFE. Lovely clean bright blade with Indian Government issue stamps & dated 1916. Dark wood grips (small chip to one side), with W/M rivets & pommel end. C/W scabbard but no small knives nor provision for such. Choice piece. Grade II. $600

4345 US Vietnam period fighting knife/bayonet, reputedly an experimental type. Wide bowie style blade (some heavy pitting to one side) with US M7 bayonet crossguard. Blade stamped "US Connetta". Leather washer style handle similar to the M4 bayonet or M3 fighting knife (only slightly wider). Highly unusual knife/bayonet to fit M16A/A2 rifle. No scabbard. Grade II- $350*

Made by and marked "Manufacture Francaise Armes & Cycles St Etienne." "Brevette". A cut down bayonet scabbard serves as the new scabbard for this rare fighting knife. Grade II+ $1100*

4367 USA WW1. HEAVY BOLO WW1 FIGHTING KNIFE. Mod 1912. Made 1918. Comes complete with 1918 dated olive green metal scabbard with leather & metal tab attachment for belt. Rough (as issued) wood grips. Will clean up nicely. Grade II- $485

4381 MALAYA C/PRE-1945 PAIR OF "KRIS" KNIVES. One large, one small. Larger one having a Starlight Vollanic Iron Blade (37cm in length). Wooden Hilt with two small carvings. (Couple of cracks to both sides). No Scabbard. Other smaller matching Kris with same design wood hilt. Sepentine Vollanic Iron Blade (21cm). No Scabbard. A nice pair with some age. Grade II- $350

4382 MALAYA TRADITIONAL "KRIS" DAGGER. O/A length 430mm. Serpen- tine Volcanic Iron Blade decorated with small gold flowers on the back of the blade near the hilt. Finely crafted wooden handle with two small carvings. Copper covered wooden Scabbard. Lic. req. in Victoria. Grade II-. $285

4384 NEPAL WW2 Ghurka kukri knife. No scabbard. Wooden grips with broard arrow stamp and numbers. Nice honed ans defined blade. Light ding to blade along the top edge but does not detract at all. Has a small piece of horn on the pommel. O/a light age patina. Grade II- $350

4385 NEPAL WW2 Ghurka Kukri fighting knife. No scabbard. Blade stamped "A.I.D IL 42". Wooden grips and fittings with moderate service use. Grade II- $385*

OTHER KNIVES

4386 FRANCE c.1840-60 Sword Like Sidearm. Heavy brass handle with knurled ended crossguard. 66cm total length. 49cm blade. Most probably French Artillery sidearm. Blackened leather (with Brass Tip and Chape Fittings). Has separated near the bottom (last 17cm), but is still present. Bears striking resemblance to the Roman Short Sword. Grade II-. $475

4387 GER POST WW2 NICELY MADE GERMAN SCOUT KNIFE. Marked "Egahr" 'Solingen Germany'. Plastic grips with Scout Logo set in one side. Comes with plastic Scabbard. Grade II- $125

4390 AUST WW1 ERA 1919 DATED LITHGOW PATTERN 1907 BAYONET & TEAR DROP STUD SCABBARD. (Tip of scabbard is damaged, but displays OK). Discolouration to blade, but does not overly detract from this early Australian Item. Original grips. Grade II- $350
