A missionary may spread the Gospel to many people. But the missionary can mentor only a few people. A mentor spends time with a few disciples—teaching them bywords and by example. Jesus focused on mentoring twelve disciples. Paul mentored a few people like Timothy and Titus. The prophet Elijah mentored Elisha. Leaders should mentor others. As you perform missionary work, prayerfully choose those that you will mentor. A few chosen disciples maybe the ones to lead the church when you leave the mission field. They may determine the direction taken by the church in that area.
