BORN OF A VIRGIN
Prophecy: Isaiah 7:14. Born of a virgin. Some have questioned the prophecy of Isaiah 7:14, saying that the Hebrew word “almah”, which is translated as virgin can also mean young woman When the Hebrew Old Testament was translated into the Greek Septuagint, the Hebrew “almah” was translated into the Greek word
“parthenos”-meaning that Immanuel would be born of a virgin. The Septuagint was completed prior to the time of Christ, so this was a prophecy of a virgin birth, not merely something written after the fact. Matthew and Luke confirmed that the virgin birth occurred.
