Prophecy: Isaiah 53:12. Numbered with the transgressors.
Fulfilled: Luke 22:37. In his testimony to the Jews who opposed him, Jesus appealed to Messianic prophecy, saying Moses wrote about him (see Deut 18:15). Jesus said in John 5:39,40,46,47: You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, [40] yet you refuse to come tome to have life. . . .

On the day of his resurrection
, Jesus walked with two of his disciples on the road to Emmaus. He chided them for failing to understand and believe messianic prophecy. Luke 24:25-27 He said to them, How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken [26] Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory
[27] And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
On the evening of the resurrection
, Jesus explained Messianic prophecy to his disciples. Luke 24:44 He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms"
Peter, the Apostle to the Jews, cited Messianic prophecy.
