DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work will be carried out in the

´Residencia de la 3ª Edad´ (residential home for the elderly)

La Florida, a socio-sanitary centre devoted to the integral care

for the elderly.

Their participation will stimulate interpersonal relationships,

affections and dialogue through a series of group activities

aimed at favouring socialization and at avoiding isolation of the

elderly.

Description of Workcamp:

centre of the town, next to the castle of Arabic origin, the

Iglesia de la Sangre church and the area of El Quartijo, the

locality¿s first fortified enclosure. More specifically, the area

of intervention is located between the Iglesia de la Sangre

church, the wall dating from Islamic times and the municipal

15th-century hospital.

The work to be performed consists of an archaeological

intervention. First, the participants will be given information

on the area where the work will be carried out and on the

objectives sought. The work will consist of excavating each grid

by using archaeological methodology: the finds will be

coordinated, the structures will be sketched, set level heights

will be mechanically taken, etc. This will all be performed under

the supervision of the archaeologist who directs the works.

Working days will be Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1 pm. A

half-hour coffee break will be taken halfway through the morning.
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES:

Excursions and visits.

Workshops and training, entertainment and other activities.

Evening sessions, team building, sports activities, games.

These activities will be coordinated by a team comprising

entertainment professionals.

A plan of cultural and leisure activities will be drawn up. These

will be held during the afternoons and weekends to complement the

voluntary actions due to be undertaken.
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: Board and lodging will be at the State School

´Sant Miquel´, on the road from Vilafamés to Pobla Tornesa,

s/n, Vilafamés.

The centre has all the necessary facilities such as kitchen,

dining hall, pavilions with bunk beds, bed linen, hot-water

showers, activities area, etc. The food will be cooked at the

facilities by professional caterers.

The group will be transferred to Benicàssim on the last weekend

and will be lodged at the Argentina Youth Hostel in Benicàssim.

Activities will end after breakfast on 22 July in Benicàssim.
