136. The fares have already been very on high side and cant see any reason to raise the fare.

137. I disagree on both increase
140. 1. The existing ferry fare is expensive although most passengers are earners what about the ones who do not work but need to take their children to school every day.

This adds up to a hugh amount in transportation at the end of each month for most Db residents.

2. The proposed increase for the internal Db buses are not justifiable Almost all residents living in all the villages apart from those living in the plaza or the village which includes Brilliance Glamour have no need for the buses around DB, however most of the remaining residents use the internal DB buses at least twice a day to shop or to go to work outside DB.
We also use the external DB buses to catch the MTR
If you increase these fares you will find the 'stay at home' residents will not move about much and will certainly deter visitors to D B,
The proposed 9 % Is definitely too much!
Just a thought from a senior resident!who is thinking of the younger ones working so hard nowadays.
142. 本人全家4人極力反對車船費加價。因為愉景

灣的交通費已經是全香港之冠,而且巴士又貴又逼,實在令人難以接受。

144. how can they ask for increases on fares based on increased costs without providing proof.....i.e. financial statements?

Surely without written proof of their supposed 'losses' and financial records the Transport Department should not grant raises to both ticket and Bus prices?

146. I strongly oppose to their suggestion. They have kept on increasing bus and ferry fares (as welll as additional charges after 12 pm) for the past few years and ferry schedule is reduced at the same time at busy hours. Discovery Bay is an outlying Island and it is the only commutation system so I think they are monopoly. HK Transportation Dept should step in and impose control.
150.These companies would not have the efficiency to ask for price increase of this magnitude but for the oligopolistic practice and privileges that present in Hong Kong, with competition being excluded.
157. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE A 100% PRICE INCREASE ON TRANSPORT IF WE COULD REMOVE POLLUTION FROM BUSSES AND FERRIES TO AND FROM DB. THE ENVIRONMENT IMPACT FROM DBTSL IS SHOCKING, AND WOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED IN ANY DEVELOPED COUNTRY RESPECTING THEIR CITIZENS.

BUKNER FUEL AND PRE-EURO V MUST GO, NOW!

UNTIL THEN, DISCOVERYBAY WILL NEVER BE GREEN AND HK FAR FROM A WORLD CITY!!
158. The age old problem of the standard of the customer service on offer on the DB transport is raised again.
Most bus drivers will not respond to a good morning or thank you. Old buses are still in service (C4/9) and residents struggle with baby buggies and shopping, getting up steps on to the bus and having to stand for the journey.
One Sunday one of the newest buses was waiting to collect guests from the ferry pier to take them to what we saw as wedding photography session with horses in North Plaza. For us residents? Yes, the old bus with steps was in service! We struggled with kids, bags and buggy as did many people on a busy Sunday.
The above incident makes for a very unsavoury image for the transport company; in short they don’t help themselves, as they don’t seem to pay attention to their unpopularity. Many people will still not patronize the north Plaza because of the transportation, long waits for buses to leave.
If the service was good, helpful and friendly the residents would accept fare increases, this is human nature, but with customer service being so bad of course people will object.
For the ferry, early in the morning, passengers still often wait around for the boarding indicator to be switched on. The litter bins on the ferry (7.15 a.m.) are often full and the pockets on the backs of the seats are constantly full of food wrappers. Again, if the service was goof then people would be more amenable to price rises.

162. It’s a shame - There are more and more people on the bus. The bus are totally packed at night so I supposed there’re some more and more people paying, so are not satisfied at all, specially after midnight, it takes more than 25 minutes to get home! It could be FAIR to alternate the #8 route of the midnight.

163. The Ferry could use less gasoline by using LESS AIR conditioner.
For The BUSES FARE I think I Read that DB is the most expensive FARE FOR The length of the ride!!! all ready! AND The BUSES are getting Fuller and Fuller also over NiETH The BUS 8 are Doing the 2-5, 7-8. If will It’s More Dived ride why NOT!!! OR change By 8-7. 3-2 Buses...
164. DB Transport Ltd. (Bus section) should join the HK Government Scheme to give reduction fare to senior citizens as the Ferry does.
169. THESE INCREASES ARE ESSENTIAL IF WE WISH TO KEEP THE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS UP TO THE CURRENT OVERALL SATISFACTORY STANDARD. TO OPPOSE INCREASES WILL RESULT IN LOWER STANDARDS & REDUCED FREQUENCY.
172. Many people from outside Discovery Bay do not travel to DB because they feel the ferry fare is unproportionally high.
173. After the last ferry fee increase, I switched to using the Sunny Bay bus/train route on my return trip from my office in Kowloon, as it saves $19. If the ferry cost was reduced to $22 then I may reconsider using the ferry.
174. Ferry: $66 for return trip is very expensive compare to other HK Govt transportation. It is crazy.
Bus: $ 4 for less than 5 min ride is ridiculous.

TC Bus: $9.10 fare is too expensive for 20 min ride. Cannot afford it.

176. I really do not understand why the fares need to be increased again within such a short time period. Especially for the buses. They are not driving especially long distances and their frequency is not any higher than those operation on HK Island or in Kowloon. In fact, per $ charged, they should be using LESS fuel than other buses, because the average distance time/spent driving is so much shorter.
177. It is already a very expensive Ferry Fare and when we see the increasing numbers of users every day!
For the people like me we do have no choice to take the Ferry to go to work not as a visitor… and ou g TOP we are 4 peoples in on family so make it a high cost monthly!!
178. The proposed 9.5% increase is too high, much higher than the inflation rate. Also, the ferry fare between DB and Central is more expensive than other routes already. It’s unfair!
181. My wife and myself are very angry about the regular increase DB transport, that does not seem to be controlled in a fair way or monitored

by the HK government. Every time this DBTSL monopoly demands a fare increase, based on claimed losses (absent of any competition), they boldly do so without any evidence and further claim its their right not to show their financials. We seem to have the most expensive transport in Hong Kong, without any other option in or out of DB. Of course my opinions are echoed throughout DB, so there is no need to labour on the point. It is suffice to say, that we strongly reject any request to increase fare prices.
