182. Both DB01R and DB03R are always full and sometimes we could not be able to board on the bus. I would doubt they have a deficit or loss in the operation of the bus services which they used it for the reason for this increase in the bus fare. Right now, we are paying $9.1 per trip for a 10 to 15 minutes ride, I think this is the most expensive bus fare in Hong Kong already. And their proposed increased is far too much and unreasonable.

184. Ferry fare and bus fare in DB are already very expensive. The idea of increasing the fare is so ridiculous. All HK Resort does is take and take hardly has they even given back to the community. I think because of the government impose fare for elderly of $2 will anticipated to reduce the ferry revenue thats why the mgmt is thinking of pulling more out of the rest of the community which is very unfair. BTW, I know a number seniors are taking a lot more ferry trip because of the reduced fare. It may not necessarily have an impact on their revenue stream.

185. Proposed 9.5% increase is out of question as I understand that general wage increase rate is currently 4.5-5%. Of DBTS wish to justify their proposal, they should disclose their financial statements.
187. I do not agree to the raise in the Proposed Ferry and Bus Fare Increases.
188. As DB resident, DB transportation is the only way we commute without any choices. Please help us to strongly protest the increase.
189. I find this outrageous to propose another increase and say that the Ferry is running at a loss.
There  are  no financial statements  or openness to justify this proposal.
The transport has been divided into Bus and Ferry.

I would have thought it would be presented  as combined to truly represent the total income of transport  and expenses /Statements.

The Ferry used to be the only transport, and with the introduction of the buses through the tunnel, the profits have surely increased and would balance out the figures from Ferry and Bus transport.

The busses appear to be running   at capacity most of the times.

I had the pleasure to be present at a PLG meeting  a few years ago, with a Transport Department Official present.

At that meeting, some excellent suggestions were made to enhance passenger usage. T o mention a couple -

1.   During off peak times, offer discounted Fares

2. Approach Disneyland to allow Ferry trips from DB  to Disney Land

When  I visited the New Hotel recently, I was informed by a staff member that a ferry service would be introduced at a later date to take guests to Disneyland !!
Question-Do  the Transport Department run safety and  milage checks and status of the busses used in Discovery Bay?

Looking at the oil stains on Sienna Road, looks like the busses a not being replaced and therefor not efficient.

190. I strongly oppose to their suggestion. They have kept on increasing bus and ferry fares (as welll as additional charges after 12 pm) for the past few years and ferry schedule is reduced at the same time at busy hours. Discovery Bay is an outlying Island and it is the only commutation system so I think they are monopoly. HK Transportation Dept should step in and impose control.
191. Visitors to DB who eat at the DB restaurants enjoy free trips back to Central by ferry. I’d like to understand how this benefits DB residents, and whether it is the residents who effectively are funding this promotion through their paid fares. Further if this promotion was not offered how would it affect the claimed need for a fare increase?

It seems to me that this promotion benefits only the restaurants and visitors, and possibly contributes to the claimed need to increase fares. The ferry service should be a service for residents primarily.

I also note that Park Island fares are much cheaper than DB fares. There service may not be as extensive but how do they operate those ferries with such cheap fares?

192. I agreed with you that the DB Transportation Co should release its financial statement to passergers first before they raise ferry/bus fares.
194. Financials (profit/loss) should be looked of from total group business (HKR Ltd.) perspectives not just individual operations.
202. 1/ There is no special fare for kids and olders while applied system everywhere else in HK SAR
2/ The aircon is EVERYDAY overused in ALL BUSSES, all year long, and above all in winter period, what is COMPLETELY USELESS and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE for users. This aircon overuse consumes a LOT OF ENERGY (fuel); reducing this use, as it is done in MTR for instance, as it is also recommended by our governor policy, will probable reduce the fuel invoice of transport company.
203. already high fare compared to the rest of Hong Kong, needs a children’s fare.
207. Ferry fare increases

There is definitely as seed for a hefty price high for ferries. With the recent government subsidy for senior age passengers, the number of ferry passengers will ineventually. The ferry company will already benefit from it.

Bus fare increases

Given the short distance for each bus route and the current bus fare, the bus company must be already overcharging the passengers. So why further increases?

211. 路程短收9.1已很貴,還要加價.

反對
213.愉景灣交通費已經超貴發展商食到盡

214. Re: Application for Fare Increase on "Central-Discovery Bay" Licensed Ferry Service
I disagree above
Re: Proposed Bus Fare Increase on Internal and External Routes of Discovery Bay Residents' Bus Service
I disagree above
217. Thank you for alerting us to the fact that the DBTS and COC are planning to raise the fares for transit in Discovery Bay.
At present the fares are high, higher than I would pay in Sydney, which is one of the worlds most expensive cities to live in.
In addition, it is nearly impossible for Domestic Helpers to be able to afford the service.
This is a blatant revenue raising, most likely to offset costs of other losses, such as the failed North Plaza development and an open attempt by these organisations to force residents to use Discovery Bay services.
The cost of living in Discovery Bay is gradually becoming so high for us that we are considering a move to Clear Water Bay next year, where we are not at the mercy of money hungry DB transport, City owners and Resorts Management.
In addition to the exorbitant cost of food, the poor quality of over priced restaurants and ridiculous resorts decisions, based on solely attracting mainlander money, this place is losing its appeal.

223. THE FERRY AND BUS COMPANIES ASK TO RAISE PRICES BECAUSE THEIR COATS HAVE INCTRASED- HOWEVER THEY DO NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS HENCE THEIR REQUEST CANNOT BE ASSESSED.
224. 1. 車程短,收費昂貴。

2.尚堤車站,常有上不到車的情況(客滿)
