  12. 1991, November 18. Original sumi-e black ink calligraphy painting. Framed and under glass. Typed note on the back states: “The upper character literally means achievement. / The lower character literally means obtained. / But the significance of the two characters together signifies the importance of family in achievement. The subtlety or the philosophy of the characters signifies that, without family, achievement in the broadest sense – of life and contentment – cannot be reached. The idea is that it requires three (father, mother, and children) to form a family, and that family is the necessary means to achievement. [signed:] A H Zu [?] 11/18/91 / In line with the spirit of the symbols, this gift was created by my father, who in turn learned the art from my great grandfather.”
