Purpose: To support the professional development and creative activity of outstanding, established artists in the areas of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts, Community and Cultural Development, Dance, Emerging and Experimental Arts, Literature, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts for a period of up to two years.
Eligible applicants: Practicing artists or arts workers who are Australian citizens or an Australian permanent resident.
Eligible projects: Activities funded include; the creation of new work; research and development, experimentation, collaborations, skills development, professional development and training, residencies and mentorships.

AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS – FOUR YEAR FUNDING (ORGANISATIONS)
Funds available: $75,000 - $300,000 per year, over the four-year funding period.
Closes: The assessment process for Four Year Funding from 2017 – 2020 has been completed. Applications will open again in 2019.
Purpose: The Four Year Funding program provides multi-year core program funding for small to medium arts organisations of significant regional, national or international standing.
Eligible applicants: Organisations that are registered under law (for example, incorporated association or company limited by guarantee) or created by law (for example, a government statutory authority).

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT – DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION AND THE ARTS – INDIGENOUS VISUAL ARTS INDUSTRY SUPPORT PROGRAM

Purpose: The Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support program aims to support and develop professional Indigenous arts practice, and build a stronger Indigenous visual arts sector by funding the operations of Indigenous-owned art centres and industry service organisations that support the production, promotion and marketing of Indigenous visual art.
Eligible applicants: Applicant must be a separate legal entity, such as an incorporated association or a company with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), if required by the Australian Tax Office. In 2015-16, priority will be given to organisations that have previously received IVAIS funding. Funding recipients are encouraged to register under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.
Eligible projects: Activities funded under IVAIS support the operations of an Indigenous art centre or demonstrate a contribution to strengthening the Indigenous visual arts industry and support increased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation and employment in the visual arts industry
Ineligible projects: Projects are deemed ineligible if they, are primarily focussed on community development or cultural maintenance; involve the re-granting of funds to other groups or organisations, without prior written agreement from the Ministry for the Arts; are to be undertaken by an individual; will occur outside Australia; have commenced prior to the execution of a funding agreement; are the primary responsibility of other Australian, State or Territory Government programs.
Funds available: Funding of up to $100,000 a year for up to two years is available for arts and languages projects through an annual open and competitive grants round. Closes: 13 June 2016
Purpose: The Indigenous Languages and Arts program (ILA) provides funding for projects and organisations that support participation in and maintenance of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through languages and arts.
Eligible applicants: Applicant must be a separate legal entity, such as an incorporated association or a company with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), if required by the Australian Tax Office.
Eligible projects: Multi-media arts and/or languages projects that engage young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; traditional Indigenous arts and craft production; the development of new Indigenous dance or theatre pieces; film or other screen based works; contemporary or traditional music production or performance; preservation of Indigenous languages and language material; development of language resources; documenting and recording Indigenous languages; projects designed to increase or maintain the number of proficient speakers of Indigenous languages; the use of Indigenous languages in a range of fields and media; traditional storytelling, writing, poetry and/or contemporary narrative pieces; multi-art projects involving installations, projections, recorded interviews or other art forms; photography; arts projects that promote the use of Indigenous languages, including dance, literature, music or theatre.
AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT – DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION AND THE ARTS – MINISTRY FOR THE ARTS – CATALYST – AUSTRALIAN ARTS AND CULTURE FUND

Funds available: Funding will be available through annual or multi-year Funding Agreements up to a maximum of four years, subject to availability of funds. Ordinarily, individual projects will not receive more than $500,000 in one year.
Closes: Applications can be made at any time but will be assessed in quarterly cycles. Purpose: Catalyst aims to fund innovative ideas from arts and cultural organisations that may find it difficult to access funding for such projects from other sources. This could include galleries, libraries, archives, museums, arts education and infrastructure projects. Catalyst offers funding for arts and cultural projects and initiatives through three streams: Innovation and Participation, International and Cultural Diplomacy, and Partnerships and Collaborations.
Eligible applicants: Applicants must be an Australian incorporated organisation or entity; have, as their principal purpose, the arts and/or cultural heritage; have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) (organisations incorporated under Norfolk Island law are eligible for funding); be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), if required by the Australian Taxation Office and not have any outstanding reports, acquittals or serious breaches relating to any Commonwealth funding.
