AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT – DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS – MINISTRY FOR THE ARTS – VISIONS OF AUSTRALIA: REGIONAL EXHIBITION TOURING FUND

Funds available: No limit. $2.4 million each financial year. Funding will be available through annual or multiyear funding agreements subject to available funds.

Purpose: The Visions of Australia regional exhibitions touring program (Visions of Australia) supports the development and touring of exhibitions of cultural material originating or created in Australia, as well as cultural material originating from elsewhere that is held in Australian collections.
Eligible applicants: Organisations. Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with an Australia Council Grants Officer before applying to this fund.
Eligible projects: The grant can be used for development (costs of planning for the exhibition to tour including research and design) and touring (costs to produce the exhibition and to transport, install and dismantle the exhibition). To be eligible for funding, a tour must include at least three venues located outside of the applicant's state or territory, with consecutive exhibition dates. Tours originating in metropolitan areas may include metropolitan venues; however regional venues are a higher priority for funding.

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT – DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS – FESTIVALS AUSTRALIA

Funds available: No Limit

ClosesProgram rounds will usually close in the last week of September and March each year.
Purpose: To support the costs to produce and present an arts activity in regional or remote Australia.

Eligible applicants:

Applicants must be an Australian incorporated organisation with an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), if required by the Australian Tax Office.



Eligible projects: Artist fees, travel costs within Australia, production expenditure

Ineligible projects: Projects in an inaugural festival, a festival program or operating costs for the festival, more than one project per festival, a project at a festival in a capital city or metropolitan location, a project that is not arts related, a project that does not have an audience / public outcome, projects that have already taken place.

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT – DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES – MULTICULTURAL ARTS AND FESTIVALS GRANT

Funds available: Up to $5,000

Purpose: To support projects that provide opportunities for Australians of all backgrounds to come together and experience different cultural traditions. 

Eligible projects: Staff salaries and on-costs which can be directly attributed to the provision of the Activity; relevant employee training; operating and administration expenses directly related to the delivery of services.

Ineligible projects: Purchase of land, major capital expenditure, the covering of retrospective costs, costs incurred in the preparation of a grant application or related documentation, subsidy of general ongoing administration costs, overseas travel and activities for which Government bodies have primary responsibility.

Funds available: up to $10,000
Closes: Applications for the 2016 Our Neighbourhood Community Grants program have closed. Applications to the grants program will re-open in February 2017.

Purpose: Provides grants to projects that will help to build healthier, more vibrant and more inclusive communities across Australia.

Eligible applicants: Community organisations which are a legal entity, registered in Australia with a current ABN and are one or more of the following: a registered charity with the Australian Taxation Office; not-for-profit community organisation; deductible gift recipient or social enterprise.

Eligible Projects: Projects will need to benefit the wider community, align with the key focus areas and primary audiences, and meet an immediate need of the community.


AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM – INTERNSHIP PROGRAM – THE MARITIME MUSEUMS OF AUSTRALIA PROJECT SUPPORT SCHEME (MMAPSS)

Purpose: To develop museological skills and knowledge to increase standards of practice for caring and managing maritime collections.

Eligible applicants: Individuals from regional maritime museums or museums/institutions holding a maritime collection (other than State or Commonwealth-owned organisations).

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM – MARITIME MUSEUMS OF AUSTRALIA PROJECT SUPPORT SCHEME (MMAPSS)

The Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme is funded by the Australian Government

Purpose: Provides grants to regional museums and organisations to help preserve or display objects of national and historical maritime significance.

Eligible applicants: All regional museums and organisations legally incorporated as non-profit-making bodies, which preserve and display significant maritime material, are eligible, whether they are privately or Government funded.

Eligible projects: Collection management (registration, storage, research); conservation (documentation and care of collections); presentation (development of exhibitions, education programs, workshops); development of relevant education or public programs that make collections more accessible to audiences; museological training (for staff/volunteers).

BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL – ACCESS AND INCLUSION COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

Funds available: $2,000 to $50,000

Purpose: Provides funding for projects or services that improve access and inclusion for people with a disability or long term chronic condition, people experiencing temporary impairment, seniors with age-related access concerns, parents with young children and associated family, friends and carers. The program aims to: Support local community initiatives and partnerships that respond to access and inclusion challenges; Improve accessibility to a community facility, service or venue; Support innovation and/or demonstration projects in response to existing or emerging issues experienced by people with a disability and their carers at a local community level; Address barriers to access and inclusion in local community sport, recreation, cultural and social activities: Address barriers to inclusion in mainstream community services and activities.

Eligible applicants: Not-for-profit incorporated organisation, or one sponsored by an incorporated organisation that is able to accept financial responsibility for the project

Eligible projects: Must directly benefit residents of the City of Brisbane local authority area and could include: accessibility enhancements for a facility; reducing social isolation; inclusive activities and/or inclusion in mainstream activities; raising community awareness.

Ineligible projects: Retrospective funding, private commercial ventures, an organisation’s general running costs, equipment alone, capital works/facility enhancements that cannot be completed within 12 months, projects that only benefit specific individuals and/or private access, event or conference sponsorship, fundraising projects, prizes and award ceremonies, projects that are core program funding responsibility of another level of government, debt payment, staff wages.

BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL – COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY BUILDING GRANTS

Purpose: Projects that achieve one or more of the following criteria may be eligible for funding: to increase community identity and connections; to increase social inclusion; to build innovative and effective responses to emerging community needs and social issues; to increase the skills, knowledge and understanding within the community sector to respond to community issues and need.
Eligible applicants: Not-for-profit incorporated organisations
