I know - 2014-02-12 11:12

It is a deadly game, this involvement in the gospel of the Lord.  Our feet become set on a narrow path to a narrow gate.  He has set the rules in the blood of His Son.  No man is allowed to save another.  It is commanded that every man will make his own choice.

We watch them die.  We watch them flounder in their sins.  Our heart aches for them.  Still the rules apply.  We press hard against the edge.  We reach our fingers as far as we can while we remain on the path.  We will honor our God.

As I pondered these things I heard the Lord.  His gentle whisper spoke volumes.  Two words.  With his beautiful compassion he simply said, "I know".

He is there - 2014-02-12 15:53

To mention something desperately important.  They sang in prison because they were where God intended them to be.  He was there with them.  He was crucified upside down.  His love for God drove him there.  And the Lord was with him.  They lived their lives in obscurity, shame, wracked with pain, utterly vacated by friends, all the while a feeling of uselessness surrounded them.  But there he was, with them.

I testify to his love.  He will never leave us nor forsake us.  And that no matter where we are, we are where he wants us.  He proved to Philip that hair has more uses then to cover our ears.  Therefore we are content to remain.  If he wants us somewhere else, we are not willing to resist.

Only sissies rub it - 2014-02-12 17:53

It was his time.  They had come to take him home.  He invited them in for supper and to spend the night.  Before the meal he stood to pray.  His communion with the Lord was so exquisite that those who came to take him home wept.

He appeared before the doorway to his home.  A pile of dry timber greeted him.  Fear was present.  Would his key unlock the door?  Trembling fingers are useless.  But he heard encouraging words.  "Play the man Polycarp."

Yes.  Sometimes there is fear.  But it subsides with the years.  Do not let them see that weakness in your knees.  But stand ye tall and wait for him.  He does not tarry long.  Testify with patient soul.  Be steadfast in your faith!  They watch to see their wicked work appear upon your face.

Amen.

Mystery unveiled - 2014-02-12 18:57

You set the Sun in its place.

You carved the moon from outer space.

You placed the trees upon dry land.

Gave birth to fishes with your hands.

The stars appear just where they are.

And glimmering dew like jewels from afar.

You dressed this place from Earth to sky.

And all of this so you could die.

Wonderous God, in awe am I.

Feed me! - 2014-02-12 20:38

If the fish aren't biting there's no sense blaming the fish.  They're just not hungry.

If people don't respond well to the gospel there's no sense in blaming them.  They're just not hungry.

But take away their favored diet and they'll get to chompin.

Testify - 2014-02-13 06:13

With threats they poise to tear.   But they are only chaotic noise.  Do not fear them. Their filthy hands cannot reach to what is good.  God is good.

We are the children of promise.  They perceive us as but flesh.  They do not know our God nor the strength of His might among us.  Therefore do not fear them.

Testify to what He has given.  If you have received His love, then testify.  Testify as to what is written.  What is written in The Book.   What is written on your soul.  The blazing name of Jesus adorns your heart as a shining golden robe.  Out of the overflow, let your lips speak.  Do not draw back.

Hands - 2014-02-13 07:13

May the richness of this world burn against me should I desire it.  May He strike these things from my hand.  I am His.  His rod is comfort, for it is life.

Sovereign Father, by your grace which is your lovely Son, you fill my hands with purpose; till your perfect work is done.

There is no hell? - 2014-02-13 20:17

If we believe that God is just and will protect his people in accusations and destruction, why do some believe that God will not protect eternity from the same?  Though such people want justice for themselves, they deny that right to God.

"God is love."  They say.  There is no hell."  And so they demand a continuation of this wicked and perverse place.  How very foolish.

The Lord provides a way out now; a transformation from animal to man.  They willingly ignore righteousness, holiness, godly love, and the purity of God's right to judge.  In their freshly minds they mock the Lord.  They have the first word.  He will have the last.

Trouble Will not Knock - 2014-02-14 07:29

Foster patience in all things.  Endure with a faith filled heart.  By the nature of this place of testing we are forced to encounter places of distastefulness.  Embrace them with vigor.  They have come to you, and more follow close behind.

Soon He will appear.  In all His Holy land there will be peace and the prosperity of God.  He has promised and cannot lie.  But for now, we set our hands to His holy work.  Allow transformation to dress you.  Trust and be at peace while trouble approaches.  "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Peace Within the Bride - 2014-02-14 08:50

We use words to speak.  And as we speak of God we strive to be careful of our words.  The words we choose indicate a definition of what is Holy.  We will falter between one another; for which of us have arrived at His majestic throne that we make a comeback and deliver perfect words?

But let us not cease trying to deliver what is good.  And let us not despise one another for our lack of knowledge.  There is One who is good.  It is our charge to encourage one another with love.

It is wise to refrain from bickering over small things.  I understand that some will consider certain issues more valid than others.  But what do we profit if we bite and devour one another while we try to explain what is Holy?

Clothe yourself with mercy even as he is merciful.  Allow room for understanding.  As we consider ourselves right today, we may well be proven wrong tomorrow.  Withhold judgement until you see him face to face.

These things are profitable and true.  Even the one who writes them is cut.  But He is among us to heal.  There is a division, make no mistake, between His people and the godless.  But let brothers in grace agree.  Petty differences, they will destroy all.

As good as it gets - 2014-02-14 11:17

Most folks like a little gossip here and there.  Maybe that's because it makes us feel good to know we are not the only stupid person in this world.  Regardless, gossip tastes pretty good.  But I hear antifreeze taste pretty good too.

People also love prophecy.  Especially if it says something about how the wicked are sure going to get theirs.  It's kind of like the man who runs like crazy to get away from bees.  The day gets pretty good if you can outrun them.  And if while you're running, someone tells you there is a cloud of DDT around the corner, that's gonna put a smile on your face.  "Let em eat this!"

But not many love prophecy when it has to do with the love of God and his call to holiness.  They consider such words mundane.  To them such prophecy is like having to be a busboy at a sand cafe in the carabean.  Drolly saying, "yeah the scenery's great ain't it."   He has completely lost appreciation for where he is.

Come on guys!  Is this as good as it gets

The platypus syndrome - 2014-02-14 12:45

A guy says, "waaaaaaaaaa!  I am of no value in my service to the Lord.  I work hard to obey but there is no fruit.  Waaaaaaaa!"

There there now.  Dry your eyes and suck up your bottom lip.  You look like a platypus in an over chlorined pool.

The Lord is faithful.  He will use your service by His wisdom.  He may provide fruit for you here.  Or he may reward you in the age to come.  Just keep on truckin.

Love your brother - 2014-02-14 16:11

Many have heard of the love of Christ, by this they love him as they can.  Many have seen the love of Christ in a brother or sister.  By this they love him as they can.  Some have been washed with the love of Christ himself; their sins forgiven through their gushing tears and sobbing cry.  To these he has delivered his love.  And forever they will love as he has loved them.

I cannot say that the Lord disregards the first two.  For even to believe on his name is a sufficient first step.  But I testify to a place, from where it is impossible to hate your brother.

I cannot mark out a path for you to this place, for the Lord appeared unannounced.  I simply affirm that our religion in the Lord does have power.

Oops - 2014-02-14 17:28

I just got an automated call from a home security company.  Anyone who knows me knows I do not own a home.  But something really funny crossed my mind.  The man promised me a free something.  If I had accepted his promise he would have turned out to be a liar.  For my home is with the Lord in heaven.  Something tells me they don't deliver there.

I did it - 2014-02-14 20:59

I don't mind be in trouble because of the Lord.  Actually I look forward to that.  But I sure don't like it when I've been stupid on my own.  That seems to happen just about every day.  Somehow I don't think I'm alone.

I'm more than willing to make apology.  And I'll be the first one to raise my hand when someone asks, "Who did this?"  But it would be so much better if it never happened at all.  The Lord's words ring true, "Each day has enough trouble of its own."

The Rock of Offence - 2014-02-15 07:55

This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed." (Luke 2: 34, 35)

God has sent His Son. And His purpose is done. He has sent out His purpose among all creation. And he has glorified forever He who was sent. God has sealed his covenant with man in the blood of His perfect One.

It is set in unmovable stone; this will of God to reap for Himself. He will divide man according to their willingness to receive. God himself has done this. It is not for us to decide there is another way. But every heart of man will be tested according to what God has done in Jesus.

Do not allow yourself to be deceived. Every man will reap according to what he has done. Those who sow their seed according to the flesh will reap the destruction that is according to the flesh. But those who sow their seed according to the will of God will reap eternal life.

Shake the tree, Oh sovereign God. Let what may fall plummet. Yet, may what is ripe and tasty to Your purpose be harvested into your joy. Your Son is forever first among all. May your Holy will be done forever.

Doing good - 2014-02-15 09:55

There is no praise necessary for doing what is good.  It is reward enough to know what is good and to do it.

But God, in his generosity to share what is good, is also ready to reward.  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world." (Mat. 25:34)

A Letter - 2014-02-16 05:49

Dear, beautiful friends, I want you to live.  How I crave to see boldness appear from you.  I have been among you and walked as you walk.  I know you remember this when you look at me.  And now I speak with a bold openness and you are perplexed at how to respond.  While I am still among you, I see that you do not understand what has happened.  "Has his love for us diminished?"  No, it has increased.

Love has come; the Love of God has appeared in a vibrant manner.  I have communed with the Living God, by Jesus, and have been transformed.  This communion is not a passing fad within me.  It remains, and is the very reason for this post.  It is also the very reason you do not understand.

What is of this world no longer holds the same interest in me.  I live to embrace heaven.  "But what of the things we love, admire and need?  Have you no concern for our daily chores?  Where are you?  Why don't you speak like we do anymore?  We are concerned for your safety, for none of us speak like you do.  We respect the privacy and right to believe as each does regarding God.  But you seem to disrespect such things.  How can we make you return to the man you were?"

You don't understand.  I cannot return to the love of the things of this world.  What I love and admire cannot be touched or held in this place of testing.  Yes I have concern for the things necessary in this world; those things like working for our earthly provisions.  But while I work I am focused on the provisions the Lord offers.  He provides the strength to accomplish what is earthly necessity.  I know you draw a line between them.  But I can no longer do that.

I am safe.  By the very speech I use I prove that I am safe.  I know it is not your language.  But it is not an evil language.  It is the language of a man who understands the will of God.  You speak of what concerns man.  I speak of what concerns God.  How can my situation possibly be unsafe?  Even you express that safety comes from the Living God.  If I am with Him how can I be in danger?

I know you want to keep the things of God private and respect differing definitions of God.  But there is one God, not many.  Therefore I cannot respect lies.  I know that grates against your perceptions.  How can that be helped?  He calls all His people to such bold proclamations.  And we will receive ridicule and misunderstanding because of it.  So did He.

You cannot make me return.  I have seen what the world offers.  I have lived as you do and found it false.  The question should not be, how can we make you return to the man you were.  The question, my dear beautiful friends, is how can I convince you that life within Him is immeasurably better?  How can I tell you that this boldness is what is proper?  How can I relate what cannot be seen without faith?  Yet I will witness before you, by His Grace.  Perhaps He will succeed in convincing you too.  Then we will hold hands and joyfully encounter the wrath of man.  Then we will ascend the holy hill of God together.

I will not turn back at your pleadings.  I will not turn back simply because you do not understand my "leaving".  While I remain among you in body, my mind, heart, and soul has left you.  Come with me.  Catch up and dance the dance of death with me; death to the things of this world, death to self, alive before the Living God.

By His Grace.

Incredible? - 2014-02-16 06:51

I was pondering the holy beauty of God.  I said to Him, "You are incredible. . .".  Then I caught myself.  The word incredible has to do with validity.  Can something be believed?  Is it a lie or a falsehood?  Incredible has to do with big foot, gigantic fish, feats of super human strength, aliens and the like.

The Lord is not incredible.  It is our language that lacks understanding.  I may, by mistake, use that word again regarding Him.  But, by His Grace, I will remember to correct my thoughts.  He is not incredible.  He is marvelous, mysterious, Holy, perfect, and a love that I cannot yet comprehend.

Revelation 11, and What is Now - 2014-02-16 07:18

The storm comes.  Men complain.  The heat comes.  Men complain.  The rains rise as floods.  Men complain.  Food spoils in the field from lack of water.  Men complain.  Desire is dashed.  Men complain.  Wonders are given.  Men complain.  Position is attained.  Men complain.

When will you cease your incessant complaints?  What is enough to satisfy you?  Patience, love, understanding, and faith elude you.  Therefore you complain.

Your complaint has reached the ears of the Lord of life.  Your unwillingness to receive with thanks is noted.  He is Lord!  He has provided all that is necessary.  Yet thanks is not first in your heart.  What is to become of you?  What shall He give to inspire your thanks?  Perhaps He could offer His Son up to death.  Would that inspire thanks in your stone cold heart?  Wait!  He already has, and you are not thankful!

Cease your complaints!  Learn to endure!

But you will yet dance and celebrate in an unholy manner once more.  Yes you will.

9" For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.  10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth."

Your love of dissatisfaction and complaint will rot against you.  Perhaps you should rethink your position.

It is the nature of the desert wanderer to moan, the Red Sea was insignificant, while the false ease of Egypt seduces those who wander the sands, and they fail to see the glory before them as they are too busy looking below them.

The Mighty Oak in My Eye - 2014-02-17 06:48

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."  (Matthew 7)

I am a hypocrite if I judge from the land of sin.  But I am not a hypocrite if I inhabit the will of God.

The world uses this scripture against God's people.  "You have no right to judge me."  And even God's people use this scripture against their brothers to keep judgment under control.  "Who made you ruler over us?"  Are they right to do so?  If the scripture is meant to keep us silent, then we would be forced to agree with humanity and the body of Christ who desire to do as they please.

But if we clean our house, dress in holy behavior, understand the will of God, and do what is right before His Holy eyes, then we have an obligation to help remove the speck from our brother's eyes.  Will he hold still?  Will he understand our intent?  Will he give respect because he perceives our standing before the Holy One of Israel?  Not likely.  If we have attained the required ground before the Holy Lord, then (from there) we are commanded to share all good things with those who do not have.

There are those who will submit with an understanding of our loving intent.  But there are a majority who will consider our actions as an unwarranted, vicious, unholy and wicked attack.

I write this with vigor.  I write this with concentrated intent.  I do not write to support any sin.  Nor is this written to give validity to "self righteousness".  I write this because I have never heard anyone speak of this scripture from this perspective.  Yet, who am I?  Do my ears hear everything that has ever been said?  Have I read every writing of man in this regard?

Please don't miss the point because this has been recorded by the fingers of a man.  Consider what is true.  Then proceed with confidence, regardless your state of affairs before Him.  If we still need cleaning, submit; that we might become useful to all.  If we have attained what is expected, then speak with all the authority and love of our Lord Jesus.

By His Grace.

Please Be Wise - 2014-02-17 07:40

I saw what the Pastor posted.  I was insulted for his sake.  He spoke of the things of the people with kindness and inclusion.  He was showing, clearly, that he understood the call of the world to take pity on a social situation.  He has become like them.

Is the Gospel too limited that we should have time to involve ourselves in the affairs of the world?  Is there not enough material and need within our God so that we have time to waste?  Is every man, woman and child already become holy before the Lord that we can abandon our holy calling and revel with them in the perceived plights of the world?

The world will drag us away if we allow ourselves to desire their love more than the love of God.  I have never read in the Bible or heard from the Spirit of God the things that man thinks are important.  I hear, "Go!  The time is short.  There is much holy work to be done."

Withdraw from them!  Please be wise.  You attack me when I mention these things.  You say that I am cold and have no regard for the things that matter to the people.  I will stand my ground.  My mention to you was with good intent, even while it was from an insulted soul.  What you include yourself in is insulting to the Lord of Grace.  For you side with man and do not consider the word of a brother to carry any weight at all.

I do not judge you, and I will not ask the Lord to judge between us in this matter.  I assess by the rule of our Lord concerning our love of the world.  15 "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."  (1 John 2)

My brother, come away from them.  Be separate for His sake.  Do not listen to me, sir.  Listen to the Lord of Life!

Why Me - 2014-02-17 07:56

Why me?

7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved." (Ezekiel 33)

And:

"Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels."  (Luke 9:26)

Because:

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."  (2 Peter 3:9)

I love you enough to risk it all.  We love because He first loved us.
