Duties: The Douglas Mawson Institute provides a range of educational programs on campus in award courses and a range of Fee for Service programs and consultancies in Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The primary role of the Lecturer is to provide instruction and guidance to students in order to facilitate satisfactory completion of the requirements of their course of study in accordance with relevant curriculum objectives. For this position, the role of the Lecturer will be to provide instruction and guidance as well as developing teaching/learning materials for the Diploma of Civil Engineering (Drafting), Diploma of Civil Engineering (Design), Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering, Diploma of Mechanical Engineering (Drafting), Diploma of Mechanical Engineering (Design) and Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering. Expertise and teaching experience is required in the subject areas of Engineering Computing, drafting of Structural Steel, Reinforced Concrete and Timber Structures, Soil Mechanics, Civil Construction Techniques, and Engineering Hydrology for the Civil Engineering programmes. The Lecturer will also be required to contribute to the effective management of the program by undertaking responsibility for managing subject areas as required.
