McDonald’s Ray Kroc Youth Achievement Award

The student selected to receive McDonald’s Ray Kroc Youth Achievement Award should be one who gives back by participating in some form of volunteer work through the school and/or within the community (i.e., a school service club, scouting, a church youth group, community outreach programs, etc.); and/or is hard-working, displays integrity, sets a good example for his/her peers; and is simply a thoughtful, caring, very nice person to know!

AES Engineers Scholarship

AES believes that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason they are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by the evaluated essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Applications are now open for the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program for High school seniors who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college or university in 2015 and are planning to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry, however, and many other programs available.

Sawnee Youth Foundation Scholarship Program

To be eligible, the student must be a high school senior and his/her permanent residence must receive its electrical service from Sawnee EMS. The scholarship must be used at an accredited college, university, or technical school.

The Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association

The Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association awards scholarships annually in the amount of $1500, $1000, and $750 to high school seniors through an essay writing contest.

APCA Scholarship

The Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA) is seeking qualified applicants for its 2014 National APCA Scholarship Program. The link to download the scholarship application and the process to submit the scholarship application can be found at:

MARC Scholarship

The Metro Atlanta Relocation Council is offering a scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors who have relocated into the Atlanta area sometime between grades 9 and 12. This is a one-time award of $1,500. Applications coming soon!

Edward L. Woods Scholarship

The scholarship is for high school seniors preparing to graduate. A criterion for the scholarship is an essay of at least 2000 words. Topic for this year’s scholarship is: Coming Soon!
All entries will have a coversheet and be in an addressed envelope mailed or hand delivered to the Post 9143 located at 1045 Dahlonega Hwy. Winning recipients will receive notice by phone and will have their scholarship presented at their schools awards night. First Prize is $1000, second prize is $750, and third prize is $500. Boling Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to a graduating senior from Forsyth County Schools who will be attending the University of Georgia in the Fall Semester of 2014. Students applying for this scholarship must be able to demonstrate financial need, extracurricular activities, and good character.

La Mujer Universal Scholarship

The Delta Alpha Chapter de Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority at The University of Georgia will award one scholarship in the amount of $500 to a graduating female student that meets the following criteria:

  • at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino heritage

  • matriculated at a US accredited college/university as a full time student for the 2014-15 school year

  • GPA – 3.0 or higher

  • Attend a public high in the Atlanta Metropolitan area

  • Demonstrates leadership abilities through participation in community service and other extracurricular activities

This scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that is awarded to one male and female graduating Senior. The scholarship recipient will be recognized at Law Day. WADE

Young Women Art and Design Exhibition

3rd annual art and interior design exhibition and scholarship competition opportunity for high school women in Georgia – WADE – the young Women's Art and Design Exhibition:  Monday, February 16, 2015 – President’s Day at Brenau University. Key details about WADE.  The competition is open to young women in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and will offer up to $40,000 in scholarships and $1000 in cash awards. To enter, students submit digitized images via email, then ship or deliver their work to Brenau after notification of acceptance.. Categories for submitting work include clay, drawing, digital video and animation, graphic design, fashion design, fashion trend forecasting, interior design and architecture, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles and sculpture.

Thirteenth Annual National WACE

Co-Op Scholarship

195 Merit scholarships totaling 4.7 million dollars will be awarded during the 13th Annual National Co-Op Scholarship Program.

Qualifications: Students must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. In addition they must apply and be accepted for the 2015-2016 academic school year at one of the WACE Partner institutions which include;

Clarkson University, State University of New York Oswego, Drexel University, University of Cincinnati, Johnson & Wales University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Rochester Institute of Technology, The University of Toledo, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Merrimack College, and Kettering University.

If you are a high school student who’s making a difference through volunteering then apply for the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Darton State College Dean’s Scholar Award

In an effort to provide quality educational program, services and opportunities. Darton State College is pleased to offer academic scholarships to incoming freshman that have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. Students who meet the following qualifications are encouraged to apply,

  • College Preparatory diploma

  • Student with an academic (un-weighted) GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Students with a combined SAT on critical reading & math of 1000 or ACT composite score of a 22.

  • Students must show evidence of community and school involvement.

  • Students must be a citizen of the United States.

  • Apply for admission to Darton College.

The scholarship is worth the total cost of in state tuition and mandatory fees for Fall and Spring semesters. See Mrs. LeFevre for an application.

Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA)

The Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA), based is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes business aviation in the State of Georgia.  One of our biggest commitments to our member companies is giving back to our community by providing scholarships to deserving Georgia High School graduates pursuing a career in aviation.
Applicants must be either a recent Georgia High School graduate or a graduating senior, have a cumulative 3.0 GPA, write a 500-1000 word essay as to why a scholarship will help them achieve their dreams in aviation and provide at least one letter of recommendation from a teach, mentor, coach, pastor, etc.  We award all of our scholarships in person at our GBAA Annual Members Meeting and Golf Tourney held on the first Friday in May.  It's a gala event and dinner and our scholarship winners are our VIP's!  We have scholarships available for those students who are pursuing a career as a professional pilot, maintenance technician (A&P), air traffic control, aerospace engineering, etc.

Optimist Club Scholarship

The Optimist Club scholarship is a one time, $1,000 scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide educational opportunities for worthy qualified students who might otherwise be denied the opportunity for a higher education.

This scholarship is open to all students who have been a Forsyth County resident for the past two (2) years, and graduate from a Forsyth County High School, or equivalent In addition the student must possess demonstrated financial need. Applicant must provide a copy of completed Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) or parent’s 2013 or 2014 Federal Income Tax return. **

SunTrust Bank “Off to College” Scholarship Sweepstakes

Through the SunTrust Bank scholarship sweepstakes, thirty (30) $500 scholarships will be awarded for education expenses at a college or university. This scholarship is open to high school seniors and current undergraduate college students. This scholarship is free to enter and eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need. Enter once every two weeks, up to 15 times during the sweepstakes period. Two winners will be randomly chosen every two weeks from October 31, 2014 to May 15, 2015. Sweepstakes entry opens September 15, 201.

Young Entrepreneur Award

An applicant for the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards need to be a graduating high school senior who is entering his or her freshman year at an accredited two-or-four-year university, college, or vocational institute in the fall of 2015 and who owns/operated an established business. Many applications participate in DECA, FBLA or FFA, among other organizations, but this is not a requirement. The Award recipients are selected by an independent scholarship organization. Scholarships are merit-based, not based on financial need.

17th Annual NFWL-NRA Bill of Rights

Essay Scholarship Contest

To be eligible for this year’s essay contest, applicants must be college-bound female high school seniors (Class of 2015). All applicants are required to secure a woman state legislator as a sponsor. The six contest winners and their sponsoring legislators also must be able to attend the entire NFWL Annual Conference where students will be presented with the award. The Conference will take place November 19th-22nd, 2014 in Philadelphia, PA. All travel and lodging expenses for the Annual Conference will be covered by the National Foundation for Women Legislators for the both winning students and their sponsoring legislators.

This scholarship is available to high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree in Agriculture and Environmental Science, Family and Consumer sciences or a related agricultural field, through the University System of Georgia or Berry College in the 2015-2016 academic school year.

Coca-Cola Scholarships

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports more than 1,400 college students each year, with annual scholarships of $3.4 million through two nationally recognized programs on behalf of the Coca-Cola System. Scholarship recipients excel academically and in service to others. Most Coca-Cola Scholars share a passion for social justice and many have overcome tremendous challenges to pursue their dreams.
