Hike NS Summit Package from Victoria County - wonderful:
Hello Vince - My thanks to you and Victoria County. On September 23 - 25, 2016, I was able to make use of the Hike NS Summit Silent Auction (World Famous Cabot Trail) Package that was provided by Victoria County. Thank heavens for a propane furnace in the Otentik. It was such a nice evening. We played cards, had some refreshments and enjoyed ourselves. The rain kept us inside more than we would have been but the experience of the otentik was great. My group consisted of my husband and I, and my sister and her husband, from Musquodoboit. It was the first time for all of us to stay in Cape Breton National Park and our first otentik experience. It was spacious, beautiful - looked brand new this season. We stayed in the otentik in Cheticamp. Although we initially thought it might be damp or cool in the otentik, it was too warm for anyone to consider sleeping on the upper bunk area. Lots of room for all of us on the main level and a good temperature. Saturday morning the weather was nice and we hiked the Acadian Trail - beautiful; no wildlife but great views and a dozen hikers. Then we hiked the Skyline Trail. It was 12 years since we were there. What improvements! We saw two moose on the trail - on the loop coming back, just when we thought we weren't going to due to the many, many hikers. Just before getting to Baddeck, in Indian Harbour we saw a moose in a bog. Another Kodak moment. We stayed at the Inverary Inn on Saturday night and by the time we arrived it was raining again. We had a beautiful meal at the Baddeck Lobster Supper - we all ate too much. Our room at the inn was very nice. Sunday morning we stopped at the Bean There Café and had breakfast before heading toward home. Again, thank you. The details all came together and I do appreciate all the work that you put into making it work. Angelo said that if I get back next season I can make use of the sea kayak offer - wonderful! Looking forward to seeing you at the (Hiking) Summit in April 2017" - Nancy Veinot (Nov. 9, 2016)

That money gives us enough to replace a couple of sets of boxing gloves which are in sad repair, maybe add an exercise ball. The gym is getting attention from a broader base and I'm hoping for the best. Would like to see it flooded with use. I'll take this week to get the gym ready for being away.
