Participating in intramural and recreation programs can be one of the most fun and
memorable experiences at Kennesaw State. From flag football to table tennis, the activity schedule offers something for everybody. These programs provide an opportunity for stu- dents to socialize, develop positive fitness practices, cultivate a connection to the university, meet academic requirements, develop leadership and interpersonal skills and just have fun. Schedules of programs and facility hours are available at the beginning of each semester.
The recreation facilities comprise the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC), sand volleyball court, tennis courts, on-campus Intramural Field, and the Owl's Nest. The SRWC has two floors dedicated to fitness equipment, a gymnasium, equipment checkout station, group exercise studios, locker rooms, the Wellness Center and the Intramural & Recreation Services (IRS) office. The facilities schedule is available at the SRWC Front Desk and the IRS web page (www.ksuintramurals.com). Students may also call the facilities hotline at 7/420-4393 to hear a 24-hour recording of open times.
In addition to the many activities, IRS employs a number of students for various jobs. Student staff positions range from office assistants to sport officials. A few of the many benefits of working with the IRS include registering early for classes, keeping your parking space between classes and earning extra money while on campus. IRS programs offer intramural sports, club sports, informal recreation, fitness activities, outdoor recreation opportunities, equipment checkout, and special events. All you need to begin participating is a valid KSU ID and a completed waiver/release form During your time at KSU, we ask that you allow IRS to be part of your college experience. Stop by the Intramural & Recreation Services office in the Student Recreation & Wellness Center or call our office at 7/499-6913 for more information.
