Abstract
In recent years, there has been a plethora of research and development in the sector pertaining to electric automobiles, particularly the immense implementation of retrofitting, which is a form of recycling wherein an automobile that is powered by the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) is converted to a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or, more commonly, a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). This field of science and engineering is of very interesting aspect as the parameters considered for the same are unique and futuristic. Pertaining to a future of Battery powered vehicles, it is safe to assume that extensive work in the field of the retrofitting sector can be abase level in understanding the unique parameters of Battery powered vehicles and also to monitor the level of impact on daily life. Keeping a keen note of the same, this article demonstrates the development of a New Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) Motor, custom designed and intricately tailored to the likings of retrofitting atypical sedan class vehicle, formerly powered by the ICE. The articles takes note on the construction of the BLDC motors, their operating conditions, the impact of such operating conditions on conventional demands of a Vehicle on-road in countries like India and demonstrate a detailed report of the New BLDC motor designed to fit all the above conditions fora Sedan class vehicle in India, for retrofitting purposes, making the Motor extremely application specific and exhibits a tailored design. The article also describes a simulation environment that showcases the design, performance characteristics and development of the said motor on anew platform known as FluxMotors that provides detailed analysis and careful tailoring of Motor designs.
