BatteryProtection.Theinvertershall beprovidedwithmonitoringand control circuitsto protectthe batterysystemfromdamagedue toexcessivedischarge.Inverter shutdown shall beinitiatedwhen the batteryvoltagehas reachedtheend of dischargevoltage.The batteryend-of-dischargevoltageshall becalculatedand automaticallyadjustedfor partial loadconditionstoallowextendedoperation without damagingthe battery.Automatic shutdown based ondischargetimeisnot acceptable.
SystemControl Console.The SystemControl Consoleshall denotethe monitoringand controllingcircuitry for thesystemlevel functions.Thesystemcontrollogicshall be physically berriedandseparatedfromthe powersection andhighvoltagehazards.The control panel shall belocatedonthe controlsection door.
SystemPowerSection.Thesystempowersectionshall be installedadjacentto thesystem control consolesection.It shall contain the static bypassswitch,thesystembypass breakerand the UPSoutputcircuitbreaker.Thestaticbypassswitchis thesolid-statedevicethat automaticallytransfers the criticalloadto bypass withoutinterruptionifthe UPSModules cannot supply continuous,regulatedpowerto the critical bus.Thestaticbypassswitchshall be ofthe energy-savingtype.Once theloadistransferredto the bypass line bythestaticbypassswitch, the motor-operatedsystembypass circuitbreakershall automaticallyclose,removingthestatic bypassswitchfromthe powerflow.Thestatic bypass switchshall be ratedaseitherMomentary Duty,or ContinuousDuty.
MomentaryDuty StaticSwitch. Thestaticbypassswitchshall beratedtoprovideupto 1000%ofratedcapacity subcycleandupto500% ofratedloadfor threecycles.Inaddition, thestaticbypassswitchshall becapableoftransferringfull ratedloadfromthe UPSmodule outputtothe bypasspowersource.
