Use Cases clustering

An important feature of the Use Cases is that their “names” should reflect users’ goals and should immediately convey meaning. Taking this into consideration through all processes, Use Cases provide a number of examples containing scenarios of use for OASIS, which should be of great utility for the work being developed by partners, but also for stakeholders and users.
Use Cases categorisation helps dealing with the expected large number of Use Cases for OASIS. This is considered as a clustering technique that separates UC’s by subject area. The subject areas are according to the activities of SP3 (as mentioned in section 4.2 above), i.e. according to the innovative modules that are to be developed in the project. The detailed list of the SP3 UCs is given below:

As said above, the above list of Use Cases covers the innovative developments of OASIS, taking into account relevant technology gaps and user needs (Chapter 3). Also, important input to the use cases was given by experts during the 1st project Workshop, the Scientific Advisory Group meeting and the User Forum, which were held on Month 10 of the project (October ’08). The main suggestions received from these events were the
There are also some generic UCs that cover the system administration from the user’s side, i.e. all the elements the user must introduce in the system that can be managed at any time. This includes personal user data, such as age, gender, activity limitations, etc., so the system can create the users profile. These UCs are listed below:

      • Register

      • Manage user’s profile

      • Change account details

      • Log out

      • Unregister

      • Download application

      • Administration of OASIS system

      • User feedback exploitation

The above UCs fall in a separate category, as the use cases in this category are not users’ goals, but steps to be carried out by the users to allow an optimal use of OASIS services. Thus these are not described in detail, as the rest.
