The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament is one of the most prestigious men’s basketball tournaments in the NCAA. 5 out of the last 10 national championships have been won by and ACC team and 2 of those 5 teams were the ACC Men’s Basketball Champions. Sponsoring this event means getting advertising time on radio, television, internet, and news papers. Local newspapers IN North Carolina will cover the event with articles about the tournament. Newspapers in the same area as the team will also be covering the tournament.
Radio- The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament is covered on all the local radio stations of teams in the area. It will also be covered on ESPN radio and ACC radio on XM satellite radio. Over the ACC tournament Chick-Fil-A will have 50, 30 second ads on ACC radio and all local radio stations. These ads will be heard by a large group of consumers all over the east coast and south east.
Internet- The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will be updated on a plethora of different sports blogs and websites. The major websites that will be covering the ACC tournament are ESPN.com, ACC.com, and the individual team’s websites will be covering the game. This coverage includes high lights, video clips, articles and radio. Chick-Fil-A will be given an ad on ACC.com and ESPN.com the advertisement will be a 4 x 1 inch block at the top of the website.
Television- The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will be broadcasted on multiple television stations around the southeast. It will be on ESPN, FSN South, Raycom, and ESPN U. Chick-Fil-A will be given 75, 30 second ads over the course of the tournament that will be broadcasted during each game of the tournament. These stations are watched by a large variety of consumers and will be very beneficial to Chick-Fil-A in advertising.
Hospitality
The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro NC. At the Tournament the ACC will have two tents on the North and South sides of the stadium for the Chick-Fil-A employees and guests who attend the tournament. In the tents we will have 4 TVs on each corner of the room and will have a buffet and drinks. Buffets will be in the tents serving Chick-Fil-A products a long with other great choices of food. There will be contest for fans at the hospitality tents with chances to win prizes and certificates. The tents will be accessible at the beginning of the first game and will close at the end of the 1st quarter of the last game. The two hospitality tents will have Chick-Fil-A logos and ACC logos around the top of the tent and will be a dark blue color.
Promotion
The ACC would like to have a promotional event with Chick-Fil-A during halftime of the Championship game. The promotion would be a half-court shot for free Chick-Fil-A for a year. The contestant will be randomly picked from the audience by their seat number and section number. The promotion will be called Chick-Fil-A’s Spicy Shot bringing attention to the new Spicy Chicken sandwich that has just been introduced by Chick-Fil-A. It will be broadcasted on all the media networks associated with the ACC and will be seen by a packed arena of fans. This is a great opportunity for Chick-Fil-A to promote its new Spicy Chicken Sandwich and gives Chick-Fil-A positive face time on television. There will also be T-shirt toss outs and stuffed cow tosses during the game. Also at different times during the game we will draw a seat number and give the person sitting there a $50 dollar gift certificate to Chick-Fil-A.
