"Most of the stuff happening in Victoria County is as a result of the Municipal/Mi'kmaw Physical Activity Leadership program. It is a program supported by provincial and municipal government to develop and implement a community wide physical activity strategy. Three municipalities and 5 Mi'maw communities have coordinators hired under this program and lots of great things are resulting from the program. The Baddeck Lions Club have been running the Kisdston Island Swimming Lessons, Boat & Lifeguards for over 60 years! Vince Forrestall moved here a few years ago to take the job as coordinator of the physical activity strategy for the county. Since this time Vince has coordinated a tremendous number of activities from all over the spectrum, an...d has offered support to probably 100s of other projects. Vince is also a genius at finding grants and approaches everything with a cando attitude. He and his family attend every event and promote everything going on here. Vince also volunteers on lots of boards and I am happy to sit on the farmers market board with him. Thank you for moving here Vince, and family!"
