1. Minutes from the last PPG meeting were discussed.

Signposters

Suzann has established that this service is safe but says that it still underused and would be better placed in the discovery centre.

2. MJOG

The use of MJOG, our text messaging service, has been reviewed across all Gosport practices and the cost of extending it to communication via email and landline ansaphone is being looked into. We are using this text messaging service the most in the area currently.

3. Web Post

We are currently looking into using Webpost, a service that will type and post our letters, recalls etc. It would be cheaper than continuing to buy stamps and send ourselves.

4. Garden

We have a lovely new garden in the centre of the surgery area. The PPG felt that we should have lovely chairs, perhaps a hammock or two, so we can enjoy the area in our breaks!!

5. Survey

It is confirmed that the PPG will carry out a survey in the waiting room this year. Pam and Maddy have devised some questions relating to all electronic software in use, in GP practice. The aim is to make pts aware of what is available. We will also be adding a question regarding our extended hours, which are Monday and Thurdsay until 7.30pm, to find out if there is anything else needed. Maddy will finalise the questionnaire and devise an info leaflet for the PPG to hand out. This will be emailed out to the group for approval and then at the next meeting, dates will be made to carry out the survey.

6. Willow Group

Stoke Rd, Waterside, Forton medical and Brune has joined together to become the Willow practice. The Willow Group management has said there will only be one PPG representative for all the Practices.  Those currently representing their surgeries prefer to have some specific input and this is under discussion.

7. GP extended access

NHS England are asking GPs to provide weekend appts. There are also plans for the 11 practices to work together to provide an evening service, dressing clinic, but all this is still in discussion and would not start until at least September 2017. Surveys have found that there is not necessarily a need for Sunday opening but NHS England may insist!

8. Wheatsheaf trust

A service funded by project springboard, helps people with a learning disability and mental health problems get back into work. Benefits are not affected by this service. Julie Fisher will be in the practice every Monday and pts will be referred by staff at the practice.

9. Touch screen

We now have our new touch screen, it is more sophisticated than the previous one. It has various languages and can check pt contact details.

10. Locality Feedback

It has been decided that for consistency, Lyndsay will attend the locality meeting and at the moment, Pam will stand in when she can’t go. Pam said that John and Sarah had expressed

an interest in attending so this will be discussed and confirmed at our next PPG meeting.
Lyndsay has given out the ‘Big Conversation’ surveys to several pts of the practice, we will wait to hear the outcome.
Pam brought some information which outlined the role of the locality rep. We discussed this and completed a survey from the locality group about the how the group can continue to be effective., ready for Lyndsay to take to the meeting on 11/4/17.
Suzann has now confirmed that she will be sent a copy of the locality minutes.

Next locality meetings are as follows:

11/4/17 – Lyndsay

18/7/17 – Pam

17/10/17 – Lyndsay

23/1/18 – Lyndsay

AOB: The PPG, again, have expressed how well they think our practice is run. We are always very appreciative with this type of feedback and are really proud of our continuing relationship and help from the PPG.

Next PPG meeting is on Tuesday 27th June 2017, 9.30am at the surgery.
