Association for Women in Computing Houston Chapter 2009 Leadership in Technology Award Each year the Association of Women in Computing–Houston Chapter honors outstanding Houston area women pursuing careers in technology. The honorees are chosen through a formal nomination and selection process. The 2009 Leadership in Technology Award winners will be honored at the Top Houston Women in Technology Gala on June 6, 2009, at the Houston Inter-Continental Hotel. Proceeds from this annual Gala fund the Kathi Bowles Scholarship Fund. Please help us continue this tradition of recognizing exceptional women in technology by submitting nominations for this prestigious award. Qualifications for Nomination
Honoree and sponsor benefits
Nominee submission: Deadline: February 28, 2009 Nominees are required to submit an official nomination form, a current resume, and a short bio. Nominations submitted without this information will not be considered. An $1,800 sponsorship fee must be pledged at the time of the nomination. This fee is typically paid by the honoree’s employer or by another sponsor, such as a vendor or supplier. A significant portion of the sponsorship fee will be deposited in the Kathi Bowles Scholarship Fund. The Kathi Bowles Scholarship Fund recognizes women pursuing a degree in a technology field and demonstrating outstanding service and leadership to their high school, university, or community. The AWC Houston chapter scholarship was established in 1988 to honor the memory of one of its members, Kathi Bowles. Over the past 10 years, AWC has provided over $70,000 in scholarships for female students pursuing technology degrees.
