Emerging trends 1. BPO’s BPO is a major employer in the services sector. The starting salary of an employer in the BPO is higher that is why majority of youth are attracted towards this job. Skills: Good convincing skills, fluency in English, good incite about customer relations, etc. Voice accent test is compulsory. Animation industry: Animation is used in movies, TV programmes (42.5%), Sport development (14%), Education (7%), Advertisement (6%), Constructions (4%) and Engineering (3%). Many companies are using this for prospectus, charts, video-shooting, to teach technical studies, project presentations, slide shows, charts, OHP, site visits, object drawing, solid geometry, robotics, etc. Indian animation industry has more than 60% of share in Asian market. 3. Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO): It is a form of outsourcing, in which knowledge-related and information-related work is carried out to save cost. KPOs mainly offer research and backend work. In KPOs typically high-value work carried out by highly skilled staff. KPO will provide the high-end services like research and development, business and technical analysis, learning solutions, animation and design, business and market research, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, medical services, writing and content development, legal services, intellectual property (IP) research, data analytics, network management, training and consultancy. KPO offers higher salaries (three to four times higher than BPO companies), international facilities, provide exposure to global industry. 4.Careers in Computer Aided Design (CAD): Computer-aided design (CAD) is use of a wide range of computer based tools that assist engineers, architects and other design professions in their design activities. It is extensively used in the design of tools and machinery as well as in the drafting and design of all types of buildings, houses, hospitals, factories, etc. It lowers product development costs and a greatly shortened design cycle. Qualified professionals find employment in manufacturing units, research and developmental firms and other related companies. Eligibility: A course on CAD (3-6 months duration). Graduates in science and engineering are preferred. Degree or Diploma in Engineering or ITI pass certificate in mechanical/automobile or electrical branch of engineering can pursue course in CAD/CAM. The salary in this field is high Rs.30, 000 – Rs.80, 000 per month depending upon his/her expertise in the field. These courses are offered by many private and public training centres. 5. Cyber laws: Cyber Law is requires knowledge of technology and law. A lawyer or a non-lawyer, an MBA or a B.E., a CA or an ICS can take cyber law courses. Remuneration: Rs 10,000-Rs 90,000. Consultancy pays better than litigation.
