Climate and Landforms:
The climate regions of Canada are related to the landform regions. The landforms in an area affect the climate of that region.
Connect the climate region below with the corresponding landform region from the map on page 50 of the textbook. Hint look at both maps and see which regions overlap or have similar shapes.
Boreal _______________________ Prairie ____________________________
Cordilleran____________________ Southeastern ______________________
Arctic ________________________ Atlantic Maritime ___________________
Pacific Maritime _______________ Taiga ______________________________
There are obvious connections between the climate of an area and the landforms that exist there. Beside the landform type, provide a description of the climate (temp and precip) likely to be found:

wide range of vegetation
So far, all of our regions have been defined for us. It is now time to try and outline the 7 vegetation regions based on the coloured map of tree species across Canada.
Use the coloured map provided to create boundaries for the seven unique vegetation regions. USE PENCIL
Using page 72 of your textbook complete the transect diagrams

Vegetation and Climate Connections:
Coniferous

Deciduous
|
Where are the majority of coniferous trees located in Canada? (use climate or vegetation region names)
What characteristics of conifers make them suited for life in these regions? (how are they adapted to the climate of these regions?)
|
Where are the majority of deciduous trees located in Canada? (use climate or vegetation region names)
What characteristics of deciduous trees make them suited for life in these regions? (how are they adapted to the climate of these regions?)
|
CONSOLIDATION:
In your own words explain the connection between landforms , climate and vegetation
