AUDIO DESIGN ASSOCIATES
PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS AT THE
2001 CEDIA EXPO, INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 6-9, 2001
WHITE PLAINS, New York (September 5, 2001) - Audio Design Associates, Inc. (ADA) announced that it is prepared to set the industry on fire at the 2001 CEDIA Expo, taking place in the Indianapolis Convention Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. The events begin for ADA on Thursday, September 6 and continue through Sunday September 9.
“We are preparing for a wonderful show,” states Richard D. Stoerger, Vice President and C.O.O. “A great deal has changed since our last public showing in Las Vegas at the CES. We can’t wait to show what we have been working so hard on. It will be extremely impressive.”
ADA begins its massive show effort with a full day of education. On Thursday, September 6th, the day begins bright and early with a Sales Representatives’ Breakfast Training and Meeting at 7:30am, in the Westin Hotel (adjacent to the convention center) in the Capitol 1 reception hall. “What we want to accomplish here is akin to a pep-rally.” Chuck Kittelson, ADA’s Director of Sales continues, “We want our entire sales force up to speed on the new products and programs, giving them a sneak-peak, if you will, to what ADA will be unveiling on the show floor. We also want to use this opportunity to get everyone pumped up for what will most certainly be a defining event for ADA.”
From 9am to 11am, ADA will be conducting a products overview, again in the Westin Hotel, in the Capitol 1 meeting hall. This session, like the other two later in the day, is open to all CEDIA attendees and completely cost free. It will provide a complete overview of the ADA product line, including all of the new components slated for unveiling at the show’s opening. “I love teaching this session,” states Richard D. Stoerger, Vice President and C.O.O., “because it provides us with an opportunity to both tell the ADA story and redefine our focus on excellence. Yes, the products are exciting, but there is more to custom installation than just products. This class gives us an opportunity to discuss how it is we partner with our dealers and distributors. While others talk of strategic alliances between manufacturers, our most important strategic alliance is with the custom installer. We use this opportunity to bring this point across crystal clear.”
From 12 noon to 2pm, again in Capitol 1, ADA will provide a class focusing strictly on the newest of house-wide architecture, multi-channel multi-room audio/video. While multi-channel audio is nothing new for the home theater, typically, only one or two rooms in a home operate in this mode. “With the dawn of surround sound music, people of means will want to experience this sound, not just in the theater, but in other rooms capable of supporting more than one pair of speakers,” states Stoerger. “This course will focus on both the music industries interest in multi-channel music, but also cover design issues and concepts as well.” ADA currently has the Rhapsody System and is introducing the all-new Silk System at this year’s Expo. Rhapsody won best Audio product last year and Silk is up for it this year. Both Silk and Rhapsody will also be on display on the open show floor.
From 2pm to 3pm, ADA will be running a special open house for their international distributors, again in Capitol 1 of the Westin. “We want to take this time to tender to our friends from outside the US,” tells Kittelson. “As language can often become an issue, especially in our other fast moving classes, we set aside special time for a smaller, more intimate group, many of whom will appreciate a slower and more language oriented approach.”
Closing Thursday, from 3pm to 5 pm, ADA will be holding a special session focusing just on technical issues. “Here we get into the nuts and bolts, or better, hex and ASCII of what makes our products tick,” claims Stoerger. “We cover everything from software to integration and everything in between.” When asked if two hours is ample time to hit all the high-points, Stoerger adds, “You obviously can’t cram everything into a classroom environment of 150 persons in just two hours, but heck, our systems are relatively easy to install and our hard-cover book, ADA Technical Documents makes for a great supplement.”
While that about raps up just Day Number 1, with the show floor opening on Friday morning, ADA revs into high gear. New on display in ADA’s booth 208, are the Cinema Reference Mach II and Cinema Rhapsody Mach II. These two preamplifiers feature the most advanced surround sound DSP technology and hit the mark on price and features. To compliment the new 7.1 preamps, ADA is unveiling the PTM-8150 Eight Channel Power Amplifier. It will be shown along with ADA’s other popular home theater power amplifiers. For Multi-Room, ADA has two new systems, a new keypad, and a new IR remote control. The Silk, mentioned earlier, is ADA’s dramatic new multi-channel multi-room system, bringing the Rhapsody System’s house-wide surround sound feature set and putting it in a single, more affordable chassis. Both Rhapsody and Silk will be fully on display. In addition to the Genesis, Millennium, and Delta stereo multi-room systems, ADA will be displaying the all-new Suite 16 System. “Suite 16 is the culmination of my efforts in two-channel house-wide design,” states Albert G. Langella, ADA’s President, CEO, Chief Design Engineer, and the first recipient of CEDIA’s prestigious Life Time Achievement Award. “While moving ADA’s focus to multi-channel distributed music, it was my intent to release one more two-channel system. This system incorporates every feature all ready out there and a few completely new concepts. I am confident, that when it comes to both price and feature, Suite 16 will dominate the multi-room stereo custom installation market for many years to come.” In addition to Suite 16, ADA will be showing two twelve-channel amplifiers that compliment the new system, the PTM-1225 and the PTM-1260. The first provides medium power and the latter high-power for multi-room sound reinforcement. For remote control, ADA will also be introducing two new keypads that are part of the Rapture Series controls, the MC-5011 Decora Wall Control and the RC-40 Wireless IR Remote Control. Langella continues, “We are rolling out some very serious products at this year’s Expo. From a technology standpoint, I doubt there is another manufacturer on the show floor with as many completely new designs as ADA. We have been busy bees this summer and we look forward to a great show.”
ADA’s presence at Expo does not just end on the show floor. As a Founding Platinum Sponsor of CEDIA’s Home of Electronic Lifestyle, ADA has provided the components that flank both sides of the exhibit’s theater room equipment racks. “For the theater, we have provided our Cinema Reference and PTM-6150 Power Amplifiers,” states Stoerger. “For audio distribution in the exhibit’s other rooms and areas, ADA’s Delta System is employed with two MC-5000 Rapture Keypads and a MC-3000 OD All-Weather Outdoor Control. To show how seamlessly ADA components can integrate with other control systems, both the theater and the house are tied into an AMX system.” Stoerger stresses, “While this environment is an ideal showcase for ADA products in a home setting, ADA chose to support this CEDIA project because it explains in one single snapshot, all things CEDIA to both press, media, and related trades. I can think of no more important project to support when it comes to creating greater awareness of our industry.”
ADA can also be found in the exhibit some refer to as Cinema Forte, the long-standing show alliance between Runco, Monster Cable, CAT Speakers, and Acoustic Innovations. Here ADA components, including the $75,000 Cinema Renaissance and over twenty thousand Watts of ADA power amplification, drive the theater to extreme perfection. “When it comes to showing off what our electronics can do, this partnership has proven invaluable. In no other show exhibit, can one come in and experience the best, of the Best, of the BEST, all tied together,” says Stoerger. He adds, “More of our dealers are putting together theaters of this type each year, so I guess one could say, it is catching on.”
ADA is also providing equipment to several other important partners. The sounds of ADA can also be heard at the Da-Lite Screen Company’s booth and Atlantic Technology Speaker’s booth. Both firms will be using ADA home theater electronics to demonstrate their latest technologies.
“All in all, we have put a great deal of effort into getting our program year off to an exciting start,” explains Stoerger. “CEDIA Expo is the perfect place to launch all these new components and we very much look forward to seeing our old friends as well as breaking ground on new business relationships.”
Headquartered in White Plains, New York, ADA has been the undisputed leader in the fields of high-end home theater and multi-room technology since 1977.
