PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE



Assistant to the Deputy Director General – Research

AVRDC – The World Vegetable Center, Taiwan

May 2007 – the present



  • Liaise between the Center’s Global Leaders of the thematic R&D and the Deputy Director General – Research in the research and development related activities and documentation.

  • Work together with the Deputy Director General – Research in developing, reviewing and editing project proposals/concept notes and project reports, and carrying them through the Center’s approval process.

  • Prepare institutional documents: writing first draft of papers, providing/creating graphs, diagrams, tables, maps, illustration, etc., reviewing and revising the papers for submission.

  • Write reports for non-restricted funded projects to donors.

  • Draft and review Memoranda of Understandings/Agreements, and procedural directives.

  • Manage a USAID-funded project in East Java and Bali, Indonesia.

  • Act as an interim Manager of Grants and Partnership Development in the absence of the current Manager’s.

  • Organize institutional events such as strategic planning meeting, mamagement taining, workshops, etc.

  • Conduct other various tasks within the capacity of assisting the Deputy Director General – Research to conduct her responsibilities.


Coordinator of Disaster Response Distribution

AVRDC – The World Vegetable Center, Taiwan

  • Coordinated distribution of vegetable seed kits for disaster response from AVRDC – The World Vegetable Center to tsunami survivors in Aceh and North Sumatra provinces, Indonesia.

  • Liaised and networked with Indonesian national agricultural institutes and plant quarantine agency, national and international non-governmental organizations to plan and conduct smooth distribution of the vegetable seed kits.

  • Designed, conducted and wrote reports for research on evaluation of biofumigation potential of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) against bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum.
