Dan Ferguson, MD Short Bio
Dr. Ferguson is a native of Atlanta, Ga. and a graduate of Princeton University and the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and served 2 years in the U.S. Army in Mainz, Germany before opening his private practice of general internal medicine at Piedmont Medical Center in Atlanta where he practiced for 15 years before transitioning to administrative medicine in 1994.
Dr. Ferguson received his Masters of Science in Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997. Since 1994 he has provided physician executive leadership for medical groups, hospitals, and hospital systems and presently serves as Vice President Medical Operations for Catholic Healthcare West with responsibility for peer review improvement, physician leadership development, and human research protections. Dr. Ferguson also serves as the Business Sponsor of CareConnect, the CHW initiative to drive quality, safety and service through adoption of best practice and implementation of advanced clinical information technology. Dr. Ferguson is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine; a diplomate of the American College of Physician Executives; a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Management; and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
