While providing disconnect go through checklist and annotate comments if systems or cables do not appear operational. Prior to Disconnect, ensure monitor and computer power up to the point of a log-on screen.
If log-on already displayed, shut down component.
If log-on not displayed, power up computer and monitor.
Note any issues with computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc on Disconnect Checklist. (ie: missing keys, buttons, mouse balls, etc)
Disconnect cables under desks, attached to computer or peripheral devices and place them in the computer bags provided.
Note cables collected on the Disconnect Checklist.
Add peripheral cables (printers, scanners, etc) on the Disconnect Checklist.
Insert keyboard and mouse in the computer bag provided.
Disconnect phone and phone cord under desk and place them in computer bag provided.
Ensure computer bag, phone, monitor, computer and peripheral equipment is tagged with HILLDRUP MOVE LABEL with the same location for all desktop components.
If there is a discrepancy, please report on the Disconnect Checklist.
Report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Each station should have a Moving Instruction worksheet noting where the customer wants the computer placed at the new location.
If the sheet is on the customer desk, place in the computer bag provided.
If the sheet is not on the desk, annotate on the Disconnect Checklist.
Leave entire desktop station on desktop to help movers packaging for move.
Turn in Disconnect Checklist to Supervisor.
Printing and Peripheral Stations Fill out the top of the Disconnect Checklist provided noting:
Technician name
Date and times
Total devices reconnected.

Look for operational lights or movement.
If no lights or movement can be detected, note on Disconnect Checklist
Disconnect power, network and all other cables and place in the computer bags provided.
Note cables collected on the Disconnect Checklist.
Add peripheral cables (printers, scanners, serial, parallel etc) on the Disconnect Checklist.
Place computer bag on top of disconnect equipment to ensure both items move together during the move.
Reconnect
Desktop Stations Fill out the top of the Reconnect Checklist noting:
Technician name
Date and times
Total devices to be reconnected will be noted prior to moving to a new station.
