Celebrate America’s Birthday with Fireworks!

Tuesday, JULY 4th, 2017

WHAT: 4th of July Fireworks – Happy Birthday America!

WHEN: Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 9 P.M.

WHERE: Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier

Intersection of 4th Ave North, 1st Avenue North on the oceanfront

9 p.m. Fireworks

Bring the entire family and spend the evening at Jacksonville Beach celebrating America’s birthday with a fireworks display over the Atlantic Ocean.


FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS are sponsored by the City of Jacksonville Beach
FIREWORKS DISPLAY is produced by Pyro Shows, Inc. of Lafollette, TN.
Jacksonville beach Pier
Closures:

A portion of the pier parking lot will be closed from Saturday, July 1, through Tuesday, July 4.

The Pier Parking Lot will reopen on Wednesday, July 5 at 6 a.m.
Street closings on July 4


  • 1st St., between Beach Blvd and 1st Ave. N., will close from 6 a.m.- 11:30 p.m.

  • 1st Ave. N., between 2nd St. & 1st St., will close from 12 noon – 11:30 p.m.

  • 1st St., between 1st Ave. N. & 2nd Ave. N., will close from 12 noon – 12:00 a.m.


Beach Closure

The beach will be closed for the public’s safety from 3rd Avenue N to 5th Ave N.
TRAFFIC TIPS FOR GETTING HOME AFTER THE JAX BEACH 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS

Be patient. No one is moving quickly.



  1. Follow police directions. They are there to assist the movement of traffic.

  2. Familiarize yourself with the information below.

  3. Remember, safety comes first.

  4. Consider taking the Beaches Trolley. It is operating on Tuesday, July 4, from 6 AM until 11:45 PM.
    It will not be faster, but parking will not be a problem. To find out the location and schedule for specific trolley stops, call customer service at (904) 630-3100. (NEED TO DOUBLE CHECK ON HOURS OF OPERATION)


Turning onto Third Street – A1A will be limited

  • ALL traffic will be directed toward Butler Boulevard or Atlantic Boulevard.

  • If you are east of Third Street, you will only be able to turn into the northbound lane – towards Atlantic Boulevard.

  • If you are west of Third Street, you will only be able to turn into the southbound lane – towards J Turner Butler Blvd.


Access off Third Street will be limited

  • Access to Third Street will be limited from 4th Avenue North to 3rd Avenue South.

  • North-bound traffic will NOT be allowed to turn west onto Beach Blvd from Third Street South.

  • If you are on the ocean side of Third Street, stay on the side roads and work your way in the direction you want to go.


Traffic wanting to cross Third Street

  • Vehicles CANNOT cross Third Street between 4th Ave. N. and 3rd Ave. S.

  • Traffic will be directed toward Butler Blvd. or Atlantic Blvd.

  • Only pedestrians can cross Third Street in this area.


Beach Boulevard at Third Street

  • Traffic on Third Street South heading north CANNOT turn left (west) onto Beach Blvd.

  • Traffic on Third Street North heading south CANNOT turn left (east) onto Beach Blvd.

  • Traffic coming from the ocean side of Third Street can ONLY make right turns northbound.

  • Traffic from the west side of Third Street A1A can only make right turns to go southbound.


Beach Boulevard at Penman Road

  • Traffic on Beach Blvd heading east will not be allowed to turn left (north) at Penman Road

  • Penman Road traffic heading south will not be allowed to turn left (east) onto Beach Blvd.

  • South Penman Road traffic heading north will not be allowed to turn left (west) onto Beach Blvd.


PRIVATE FIREWORKS

The City of Jacksonville Beach law PROHIBITS the sale, use or possession of ANY TYPE of fireworks that EXPLODE and LAUNCH within the city limits. This law WILL BE ENFORCED this 4th of July holiday. Illegal use or possession of fireworks will result in confiscation and a citation. Fireworks are dangerous; they are designed to burn and explode. Leave the fireworks to the professionals. Join the City of Jacksonville Beach for a safe way to enjoy fireworks and the 4th of July. City of Jacksonville Beach wants you and your family to enjoy the 4th of July. We also want you to be safe while you celebrate our country’s birthday. Injuries from exploding fireworks are a common reason for visits to the hosptial emergency rooms during this holiday period.
