Ways in which communities in Australia are responding to change.

Outcomes

A student:

Geographical Tools in this focus area:

Fieldwork – use a range of fieldwork techniques to collect primary and secondary data.

Maps- locate features on a map using degrees and minutes of latitude and longitude, describe and explain relationships on a map.

Graphs and statistics – Interpret population pyramids, interpret divided bar and column graphs

Photographs - compare and contrast historic and present day photographs

Students will learn about:

Factors that contribute to the communities sense of identity / factors causing change in that community / individuals, groups and levels of government involved in the process of change / define the community in terms of its shared space and social organisation / describe the factors causing change and the impacts of change on that community.
