ALL-STAR SOCIAL MEDIA HIP HOP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA

GETS UNDERWAY MARCH 4TH IN MIAMI
I AM DLOW” DROPS ON FRIDAY, MARCH 18TH

Atlantic Records hip hop/choreographed dance music (CDM) sensation, DLOW is set to release his newest project “I AM DLOW.” The four-track collection will be available everywhere on Friday, March 18th.
Daryon Simmons, better known as DLOW, has stirred a CDM revolution with his breakout hit single, “Do It like Me.” The track’s companion video sees the self-proclaimed “Bop King” challenging fans everywhere to match his unwavering skills as he effortlessly performs such current hip hop dances as “Hit the Quan,” “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” and “Milly Rock.” Millions of fans have taken up DLOW’s “Do It Like Me “challenge, from superstars like Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Floyd Mayweather and more posting their own renditions of the challenge online. Even Beyoncé threw a snippet into her performance at the Super bowl this year, earning the clip more than 50 million individual views thus far at DLOW’s official YouTube channel.
DLOW will celebrate Atlantic Records’ release of “I AM DLOW” as he travels the US on the hugely anticipated “Let’s Dance – The Tour 2016.” Presented by Scream Nation in conjunction with Live Nation, the tour kicks off Friday, March 4th at Miami, FL’s Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theatre and then hits major markets coast to coast through May 1st (see attached itinerary). “Let’s Dance – The Tour 2016” sees DLOW co-starring in an energy-filled stage production showcasing hip-hop’s favorite social media dancers. Co-hosted by #TeamNueEra, the tour also features some of today’s most popular hip-hop/dance artists, including Silentó, iLOVEMemphis (fka iHEARTMemphis), We Are Toonz, 99 Percent, and the winner of the 2015 Ultimate Mad DJ Competition, DJ Double J. Scream Nation is heralding “Let’s Dance – The Tour 2016” with their own #LETSDANCECHALLENGE – for complete details and ticket information, please see screamnation.us. During the tour DLOW will be making a stop at this year’s SXSW on Tuesday, March 15th to perform at ASCAP's Rhythm and Hip Hop Showcase.
Known to friends and family as Daryon Simmons, DLOW – an acronym that stands for Determined, Loyal, Optimistic, and Willing to Learn – chose to escape Chicago’s violence and poverty-plagued West Side Chicago neighborhood by doing something positive with his extraordinary gifts for music and dance. His original lyrics and choreography for 2013’s “DLOW Shuffle” proved a YouTube phenomenon, beginning a viral dance craze so popular DLOW was invited to perform it alongside Steve Harvey on his nationally syndicated daytime show.
“Do It Like Me” hit YouTube in September 2015 and immediately turned into a genuine worldwide trend, spending weeks on Billboard’s overall “Hot 100” and garnering more than 100 million cumulative views, all without regular radio airplay or label support.
DLOW has also drawn national notice for his close connection with Chicago’s one and only Chance the Rapper. The two have collaborated on a wide range of projects, from partnering onstage at Lollapalooza 2014 to Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment’s short film, “Sunday Candy,” written and co-directed by Chance. What’s more, DLOW headlined Chance’s Teens in the Park (TIP) Fest – presented by the Chicago Park District to an audience of over 3,000 teens -- and joined the acclaimed MC for a memorable performance of “Angels” on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
In addition to his explosive work as an artist and choreographer, DLOW is also a committed activist and inspirational speaker, relating his powerful personal story to students at over 300 elementary, junior high, and high schools thus far. DLOW believes that dance is a positive alternative to violence and should be viewed as a way of self-expression. DLOW and his remarkable story have been featured in a range of national media, including BET’s 106 and Park, ABC’s Good Morning America, the Wall Street Journal, and many more.
